Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Florida Gators vs Arkansas Razorbacks

The Florida Gators will travel to Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to battle the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in a  Southeastern Conference matchup. The Razorbacks certainly began their conference schedule on a high note as they were victorious over the Aggies of Texas A&M on the road in their last outing as both teams shot awful from the floor throughout the contest; However, the Razorbacks were able to connect on 10 3-pointers on the night compared to just five for the Aggies with Fabyan Harris leading the way for Arkansas with 15 points along with nine assists in the much-needed victory.

On the other hand, the Florida Gators crashed back to earth after a three-game winning streak as they fell at home to the South Carolina Gamecocks in their second SEC contest of the year as South Carolina rallied in the second half from a four-point deficit at the break in which to outscore Florida 39-33 in the second half thanks to the defense for South Carolina holding Florida to just 37% shooting from the floor while the Gamecocks also capitalize off 15 costly turnovers for the home team en route to the  win.

Florida Gators's Latest Performance :

Noah Locke finished the game with 17 points for a Florida Gators team that had three total double-digit scorers as he went 5-16 from the floor as well as 5-15 from 3-point range in a terrible shooting night. On the other hand, Kevaughn Allen along with Andrew Nembhard ended with 10 points each as they went a combined 7 – 16 from the field for the contest as Florida also went 9-21 from three-point range while committing 15 turnovers, as stated, in the contest.

On the other hand, South Carolina also committed 17 turnovers of their own yet was able to be a bit more accurate from the free throw line in going 18-25 for the game in addition to also getting a huge performance off the bench from Hassani Gravett, who ended with 22 points along with six rebounds while going 4 – 7 from 3-point range. On the other hand, Chris Silva also chipped in 18 points and five rebounds on only 19 minutes of play for the Gamecocks.

With their record currently being 0-2 in the conference, the Gators will certainly be looking to pick up a victory in this contest versus the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday night. This will be the second road game for Florida all season as they will look to somehow make some headway versus an Arkansas defense that is allowing opponents less than 40% from the floor on a nightly basis.

Arkansas Razorbacks's Latest Performance :

With their SEC victory over the Aggies of Texas A&M, the Arkansas Razorbacks find themselves currently in the fourth place slot with in the Southeastern Conference. With that being said, they will certainly be looking to pick up a huge win over a Florida Gators team that has struggled on the offensive end throughout 2018. Nonetheless, Arkansas has had a bit of a problem scoring consistently lately, as well, as they are averaging eighty two points per game on 45% shooting; However, in their last six games overall, the Razorbacks have not eclipsed the 80-point mark at all. Fortunately for Arkansas, their defense has certainly stepped up, even more, as they are allowing opponents to average just 69 points during this time.

In their last outing versus Texas A&M, the Razorbacks were able to outlast a Texas A&M team that shot just 41% from the floor while connecting on only 21% of their 3-point attempts as TJ Starks along with Savion Flagg had 23 and 20 points, respectively, for Texas A&M yet went a combined 3-9 from long range on the night. On the other hand, Arkansas shot even worse from the floor at 37% yet were able to get 15 points along with nine rebounds from Harris, as stated, while Desi Sills came off the bench in which to provide a huge lift in scoring 14 points while going 3-6 from three-point range as the Razorbacks possessed a total of four double digits scorers for the night.

Arkansas will now look to return home to Bud Walton Arena, where they have won five of their last seven games, overall, in which to face a Florida team that has struggled lately on the offensive end, as pointed out. Nonetheless, the Gators possess one of the best defenses in the country in allowing opponents only  38% shooting on a nightly basis.

How Florida Gators & Arkansas Razorbacks Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Florida is 6 – 7 against the spread while the OU is 4 – 9

Arkansas is 7 – 6 against the spread while the OU is 3 – 10

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will certainly be an interesting SEC match up as both teams will be looking to get a much-needed victory on Wednesday night. Arkansas will look to continue to increase their positioning with in the Southeastern Conference while Florida will simply look to get the monkey off their back in which to pick up a much-needed victory  within the conference while stringing together some wins moving forward. With that being said, I expect this to be a possibly low-scoring contest as offenses will oppose two defenses that continue to rank amongst the best within the country in defensive efficiency.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Florida Gators

My reason for the pick :

Florida is certainly coming off an ugly loss versus the South Carolina Gamecocks at home. With that being said, I expect for them to come out with a vengeance in this matchup in which to not only establish themselves on the defensive end, which is been the tip of the spear in their success in 2018, but, to also show and prove on the offensive end in this matchup as well. Of course, Arkansas will also bring the focus for this match-up as they will look to continue their undefeated record in conference; However, the Gators will sneak out a small victory due to their ability to remain consistent on the defense end in addition to hitting some critical buckets down the stretch in which to pull out the much-needed victory.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in the last six games for Arkansas while also being the result in four the last six games, overall, for the Florida Gators. With that being the case, look for these teams to continue in this matchup as both offenses, as stated, will be taking the floor versus two above-average defenses that will be looking to put in a much better performance than in their last outings. With that being said, look for the under to be the strong play in this matchup as both offenses  will have their fair share of issues in obtaining quality looks at the basket throughout this contest.

Betting trends for Florida Gators:

  • The Gators are  2 – 3 against the spread in their last five games

  • The under is 4-2 in Gators last 6 games

Betting trends for Arkansas Razorbacks:

  • The Razorbacks on 1-5 against the spread in their last six games

  • Under a 6-0 in Razorbacks last six games
