Texas Longhorns vs Kansas Jayhawks
The Texas Longhorns invade Lawrence on Monday night to take on the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks at the always rowdy Allen Fieldhouse. This Big Twelve match-up features two teams on the hunt for a string of wins. The Longhorns are coming off of a loss to Oklahoma State while the Jayhawks returned to action to beat #25 TCU after losing to Iowa State on the road. This is their first meeting since Kansas beat Texas back in February 80-70 on senior night at home. The Longhorns were in the game cutting the lead to six but failed to get any closer before leading way to the Jayhawks 14th conference title.
Texas Longhorns's Latest Performance :
The Texas Longhorns are having a solid season after a disappointing 2017-18 campaign where they finished 7th in the Big Twelve. After offering up three consecutive wins, they stumbled at home against conference foe, Oklahoma State 61-58 in their last outing. The Cowboys have owned the Longhorns at home beating them 7 consecutive games in Stillwater. Texas struggled beyond the arc only hitting 2 of 22. The Longhorns had a shot to tie the game at the buzzer but Courtney Ramey’s three-point attempt missed giving the Cowboys another notch on their victory belt of the Longhorns.
Kansas Jayhawks's Latest Performance :
The Kansas Jayhawks have been ranked as high as #1 in the country before stumbling a couple of times along the way. After a surprising loss to Iowa State, the Jayhawks took on #25 TCU on their home floor winning the game 77-68. Bill Self has done what he always does when facing adversity…adjust and win. With the loss of Udoka Azubuike for the season, Kansas has been searching for ways to replace him. They found an answer in Dedric Lawson who stepped up and scored 31 points with fourteen rebounds recording his 47th career double-double in the win over TCU.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Longhorns match-up much better with the Jayhawks this season compared to last. Luckily for them, KU’s leading scorer and dominating big man is out for the season which levels the playing field a bit. Just ask Iowa State. However, this is Kansas and they are still ranked #7 in the country. Bill Self is one of basketball’s best coaches and he has depth. Lots of it. It could be a long afternoon for Texas at the always sold out Allen Fieldhouse.
