Dayton Flyers vs St Bonaventure Bonnies
The Dayton Flyers will travel to the Reilley Center in St. Bonaventure, New York, in which to battle the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. St. Bonaventure ended a two-game winning streak as they fell to the Rhode Island Rams on the road in their last outing has they were blitz in the first half in going down by 14 points at the half. And despite a second-half rally, the Bonnies were not able to pull out the victory due to 54% shooting for Rhode Island along with 18 points each from Fatts Russell as well as Tyrese Martin in the win for the Rams.
On the other hand, the Dayton Flyers also ended an extended winning streak by suffering a loss to the VCU Rams in their last time out. In this contest, Dayton slightly outshot the Rams by a 47% to 45% margin, however, VCU was able to hit nine 3-pointers on the night while also winning the rebounding battle en route to edging a very solid Flyers team at home.
Dayton Flyers's Latest Performance :
Dayton lost their first conference game of the season versus Virginia Commonwealth in their last outing in a five-point loss, as this was their first defeat in their last five games, overall. Nonetheless, the Flyers enter this game winners of seven of their last 10 games as they will certainly be looking to get back on the right track after their lackluster outing versus the Rams. In this contest, the Flyers were able to shoot 47% from the floor on the night yet went 4-16 from long-range as Jordan Davis was 2-4 from three-point range while ending with 17 points to lead the team. Leading scorer for the season in Josh Cunningham went 5-6 from the floor in ending with 13 points in addition to pulling down eight rebounds as well.
Nonetheless, Dayton allowed 17 along with 16 points to Marcus Evans along with De’Riante Jenkins as the Rams shot just 46% from the floor yet were able to hit twice as many three pointers on the night with nine for the contest. VCU was also able to outrebound Dayton in the win while also capitalizing off 12 turnovers on the night en route to the victory. The Flyers are a very efficient team on the offensive end as they average just 74 points per game while shooting a tad over 50% from the floor on a nightly basis. Their defense, on the other hand, has been stellar as well as they are not only allowing just 42% shooting from the field, but, teams have only been allowed to surpass the 70-point mark in just one of their last four outings, overall.
St Bonaventure Bonnies's Latest Performance :
St. Bonaventure continues to drop games this season due to their severe lack of offense as the unit is only shooting at a 40% clip on a nightly basis. Their defense, on the other hand, has been the tip of the spear in their minimal success throughout the season as they are allowing opponents to score just 68 points per outing. Nonetheless, due to a lackluster first-half in which they allowed 34 points to the Rhode Island Rams, St Bonaventure was relegated to just 20 points during this time en route to shooting just 38% from the floor while going 5-18 from three-point range.
On the other hand, the Rams were able to shoot well over 53% while also shooting 38% from three point range as Russell along with Martin led the offensive charge for the home team. On the other hand, Ladarien Griffin led the Bonnies with 17 points to provide a lift for a team where its leading scorer for the season in Kyle Loftin went a horrible 4 of 16 from the field while ending with just 10 points on the night, as he has struggled recently in averaging just 11 points for the team in their last six outings. Things may not get any easier for St Bonaventure as they now face a Dayton Flyers team that will certainly be looking to get back onto the court in which to pick up a victory after halting an extended winning streak of their own in their last outing.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Dayton Flyers
My reason for the pick :
Look for Dayton to get back on the winning track in this contest as I really do not see St. Bonaventure putting up much of a contest throughout. As stated, Dayton is very efficient on the offensive end of the floor and will certainly get some critical buckets throughout the contest in which to pull away from the Bonnies in the end. Also, look for Dayton to have a much better defensive showing in this contest vs St. Bonaventure as well as they will totally neutralize an already inconsistent offense that has troubles getting going early in games.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under
My reason for the prediction :
The under has been the play in three of the last four home games for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies and I certainly expect these trends to continue in what will be a highly competitive contest between these two conference foes. In other words, both offenses will be neutralized, for the most part, throughout the contest; However, the road team will certainly come up with critical baskets at pivotal points in the game in which to pull away from the home team and pick up the victory.
