Indiana Hoosiers's Latest Performance :
With Indiana’s defense struggling, it’s no wonder as to why the Hoosiers have had to deal with a major losing streak at a critical point in the season, currently. Their defense, however, continues to remain solid as they allowed Nebraska to shoot just 45% from the floor in their last outing while also forcing 12 turnovers on the night. Glenn Watson Jr along with Isaac Copeland Jr scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Nebraska in the win as the Cornhuskers certainly put themselves in outstanding position in which to increase their standings within the Big Ten. And while Langford has averaged 20 points during the current losing streak for Indiana, consistent scoring from additional players with in the lineup will certainly be needed, moving forward, if this Indiana team is to right themselves from a rough patch of play. They may find tough goings versus a tough-minded Purdue squad on Saturday afternoon as the Boilermakers will also be looking to increase their positioning within the conference while also picking up their 3rd straight conference win.
Purdue Boilermakers's Latest Performance :
Purdue has certainly increased their offensive output during their past six outings as they scored 80 or more points in for their last six games, overall. For a team that struggled early on in the season, this has been a huge catalyst for their success recently as they have won five of six games while also picking up a home win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in their last outing as they were scorching-hot from the floor in shooting 50% both from the field as well as from three-point range. Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Purdue Boilermakers
My reason for the pick :
While I happen to believe that the Indiana Hoosiers will certainly bring their best for this matchup on Saturday, I will back the Purdue Boilermakers in this contest as I happen to believe that they have obtained a huge amount of momentum due to their current winning streak and will neutralize an offense for Indiana, yet again, that has struggled mightily lately. Also, expect Purdue to put some points on the board throughout as Indiana and its defense has also regressed a bit during their current losing skid.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under
My reason for the prediction :
And while their defense has certainly regressed lately, look for Indiana to lead with their defense in this matchup as they are fully aware that their offense is having a difficult time putting points on the board consistently. Of course, one should also expect Purdue to come out looking to exert themselves early and often on the defensive end of the floor as they will certainly not want Indiana to gain any type of confidence and/or momentum at any point in this contest. In all, look for the under to be the strong play in this matchup.
