Ohio State Buckeyes vs Michigan Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines are set to return home to the Crisler Center after playing on the road in their latest outing and they will welcome in the Ohio State Buckeyes in a Big Ten clash, the opening tipoff is slated for 9:00 PM. Michigan has been one of the most impressive teams in the nation this season as they rank inside the top 5 in the AP Poll while Ohio State has struggled as of recent as they enter this game with a 3-5 Big Ten record.
Ohio State Buckeyes's Latest Performance :
There were high hopes for the Ohio State Buckeyes coming into the season as they made the NCAA Tournament in year 1 of the Chris Holtmann era but this is a completely new roster than last year which has shown as they come into this game with a 3-5 Big Ten record. Ohio State was able to break a recent 5-game losing streak as they went on the road and beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-60. Freshmen guard Luther Muhammad had one of the best games of his young career as he went 3 for 4 from behind the arc to contribute to 24 points and 6 rebounds, Muhammad was one of the top recruits for Holtmann in his past signing class and he has started to play up to expectations as he is averaging 9.9 PPG and 3 RPG. The top scorer for Holtmann and company all season has been sophomore forward Kaleb Wesson as he comes into this game averaging 14.9 PPG and 6.8 RPG, but he struggled to find that mark against Nebraska as he went 3 for 8 from the field with 7 points and 11 rebounds. The Buckeyes would like to see more consistent production out of senior guard C.J. Jackson as he comes into this game averaging 12.6 PPG and 3.7 APG, Jackson contributed 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in their latest game. The Buckeyes were able to receive a solid game off the bench from Wake Forest transfer Keyshawn Woods as he contributed 9 points and 6 rebounds, Woods has started 7 games this season but he is a better asset off the bench as he is averaging 7.1 PPG.
Michigan Wolverines's Latest Performance :
The Michigan Wolverines have responded from their upset loss a few games ago with consecutive wins and now only sit .5 games out of 1st place in the Big Ten with an 8-1 conference record. Michigan comes into this game with an impressive road victory over the Indiana Hoosiers as they used their stellar defense to propel them to a 69-46 win. The Wolverines leading scorer throughout the season has been freshmen Ignas Brazdeikis as he comes into this game averaging 15.2 PPG and 5.6 RPG, and he was able to eclipse both those marks against the Hoosiers as he had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Senior guard Charles Matthews was the hero a few games back when he hit the buzzer beater to beat Minnesota and he followed that performance up with another good one as he recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, Matthews averages 13.1 PPG and 5.3 RPG. Zavier Simpson is the PG for this offense and he was able to show his versatility against Indiana as he didn’t only record 12 points but he corraled 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the win, Simpson is having a fairly solid season as the junior is averaging 8.8 PPG, 5.6 APG, and 4.9 RPG. Michigan was able to show their stellar defense in this game as they held the Indiana Hoosiers to 46 points as they forced them to shoot 15% from behind the arc, junior center Jon Teske recorded 2 blocks and 1 steal while sophomore guard Jordan Poole had 3 steals and 1 block.

Against The Spread Selection: Michigan Wolverines
My reason for the pick :
The Michigan Wolverines are playing some of their best basketball of the season at this point while Ohio State has been limping to the finish line and I think we continue to see that trend in this one. Michigan has one of the top defenses in the country as they are forcing teams to beat them with the 3-point shot as they are stuffing the lane and that is something Ohio State has not been able to do. Ignas Brazdeikis has proven to be a nightmare matchup for opposing teams as he can shoot the outside shot as well as take you into the lane. Michigan also gets the luxury of playing on their home court where they are a perfect 13-0 this season. Michigan will use their length and force the Buckeyes into turnovers which will lead to easy transition buckets. Take the Wolverines.
