Over/Under 10.5 Wins vs Georgia Bulldogs
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are hoping to expand on a great season last year as they were so close to winning their first national title since 1980. Kirby Smart learned from the best in his previous stop (Alabama) but he was eventually outcoached by that same coaching staff as they fell in overtime, 26-23. Smart should be excited about this season as he doesn’t only return his star QB in Jake Fromm but brings in the number 1 recruiting class that held over 7 five star recruits. Georgia may need for its freshmen class to contribute sooner rather than later considering they lost some vital pieces from last years team as Sony Michel, Nick Chubb, Roquan Smith, and Isaiah Wynn are all on an NFL roster. Georgia is easily the favorite to come out of the SEC East but they could be set up for a rematch in the SEC title game with either Auburn or Alabama which is not an easy task.
Over/Under 10.5 Wins's Latest Performance :
The over/under for the Georiga Bulldogs is set at 10.5 wins which would allow them to lose no less than 1 game this regular season which is a hard task in the SEC. Georgia is coming off an 11-1 regular season in 2017 so the Bulldogs will have to match last years performance for bettors to hit on the over.
Rolling Back To Atlanta
The Georgia Bulldogs were really good in 2017 beside their one loss @ Auburn (40-17) and this season should be no different as they were given a really generous schedule. Georgia SEC road games include South Carolina, Missouri, LSU, and Kentucky which are all winnable games for the Bulldogs. Georgia will also get the luxury of welcoming in Auburn this season which should be a highly emotional game considering the games these two teams gave us last season. The one game that appears to be a trap for me could be the LSU game as we know how hard Death Valley is to play in. Georgia should have no problem rolling over rivals Florida and Georgia Tech as they are not on the same level as Kirby Smart who has this program traveling in the right direction. Even if Georgia drops the game at LSU they will still be above the 10.5 win mark.
Georgia Bulldogs's Latest Performance :
The Georgia Bulldogs thought they were set up for success when they had Jacob Eason under center at the beginning of 2017 but as we have gone to find out he is not the man of the future after Jake Fromm stole the show from him and led the Georiga Bulldogs to the national title as a true freshman. Fromm had one of the best years out of any college football QB as the 6’2 slinger threw for over 2100 yards while tossing 21 touchdown passes. Fromm is not only slated to be the QB for Georgia but a favorite for the Heisman trophy award. Georgia won’t have to fear for the worse if they lose Fromm to injury or suspension as they snagged the #1 QB in the nation last season in Justin Fields who could possibly push Fromm for a starting spot in a year or so. The one question mark for the Bulldogs resides in their running back room as they lost 2123 yards and 26 touchdowns to the draft. D’Andre Swift will be the main go-to guy out of the backfield as the shifty back was effective in his freshmen campaign. Swift may be small (5’9) but his speed is unmatchable which was proven true as a 3rd down back last year for the Dawgs as he combined for over 743 yards and 4 touchdowns. The defensive side of the ball will need to also figure out things under Defensive Coordinator Mel Tucker as they graduated 8 of their 11 starters from 2017, but that shouldn’t be a heavy task for Tucker as his roster is loaded with talent.
Player To Watch
Natrez Patrick, LB, SR.
As we stated up above the Bulldogs will need to search for answers on the defensive side of the ball and more specifically at the linebacker position as they lost all 4 guys from last years stingy defense. Patrick was one of the best players in his recruiting class and we have seen that to play true when Patrick is able to play crucial snaps, but the only problem concerning Patrick is his off the field problems. Patrick was facing a dismissal from the team after his 3rd marijuana-related offense back in December after the SEC title game. Patrick was able to get the charges dropped which allowed the senior to compete for the Georgia Bulldogs this upcoming season. Patrick showed flashes of potential back in 2016 when he racked up 10 tackles against South Carolina but this will have to be a daily occurrence for the LB. Patrick will no longer be a reserve behind great linebackers but rather the head guy who will need to lead a defense full of younger guys. Patrick should perform well enough to earn NFL talks as he should put up the stats that match his size (6’3, 234 LBS).

My reason for the pick :
Georgia may have lost a ton of experience from last season but as we have stated they reloaded with the best recruiting class in all of college football. Georgia was given a generous path back to the SEC title game as they don’t see too much of the SEC West this year. The one loss should come at LSU as I can see Georgia looking too far ahead at their matchup against rival Florida. Another future bet I would consider making other than the over 10.5 wins is the national champion bet which currently sits at +1000. Even if Georgia loses the SEC title game to either Auburn or Alabama they still have a great shot of making the College Football Playoff as we have seen 2 SEC teams make it no problem. Alabama did it last season as they didn’t even make it to the SEC title game which should have Georgia thinking they can return back to the promise land.
