How Kentucky Wildcats & Florida Gators Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Florida is 1-0 ATS while the O/U is 1-0
Kentucky is 0-1 ATS while the O/U is 1-0
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This SEC showdown will allow one team the early, inside tract within the East division as Florida will hope to test the defensive secondary of the Wildcats while Kentucky hopes to shore up their passing game in which to give themselves an added benefit to playing a team that will certainly look to shut down their running attack (that clicked very well against CMU). Again, the Gators have dominated this matchup in recent outings, yet, they won by the skin of their nails last year. They hope to bring the pressure to an offense that may indeed have to start a backup because of their starter having to leave after injury in week 1.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Florida -14.5
My reason for the pick :
Florida has had its way the Wildcats in the past, and it is for this reason that I will ride with the home team in this matchup. Kentucky will be looking to make a statement, yet, the Gators are also looking to remain on top within the division as they seek to also make an SEC title run this year. In all, the Gators will indeed wear down the front for the Wildcats and pull away late in the game, so, taking the Gators with the points will certainly be a strong play.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 49.5
My reason for the prediction :
While Florida will eventually take control of this game at some point due to their aggressiveness in the trenches, I feel as though they will not give up many points to this Kentucky squad. In fact, Kentucky would give up some points to Central Michigan last week, yet, stiffened when they needed to in order to get the win. Of course, the Gators will be a much different and difficult task for the Cats, nonetheless, they will manage to play a decent defensive game while holding the total under the set amount.
