How USC Trojans & Stanford Cardinal Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Stanford is 1-0 ATS while the O/U is 0-1
USC is 0-1 ATS while the O/U is 1-0
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
After having done themselves well in taking care of business in the opening week, these two Pac 12 teams look toward division play as the Trojans will look to have another great showing against the Cardinal that seem to be very solid after locking down the SDSU offense late in last week’s game. The Trojans certainly gave up some yards on the ground to UNLV and will certainly look forward to Stanford going to the well simply to see if they can exploit the middle of that D as well. In all, expect a very competitive matchup against teams looking to continue their momentum while gaining the inside tract within the division standings, also.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Stanford -3.5
My reason for the pick :
I will back Stanford in this matchup as I feel as if they will wear down this USC team in the trenches (much like UNLV did) while tiring them down late. It is for this reason that I feel as if the 3.5 points would be a fair wager for a Stanford team that played well at home versus this Trojan team that can be potentially dangerous, yet, will go through some growing pains on defense to begin their 2018 campaign.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 54.5
My reason for the prediction :
Stanford seems to possess yet another powerful, tough, and aggressive defense in 2018 as they would certainly assert their dominance over their week 1 opponent. And while USC picked up the win last Saturday, they were torched on the ground by UNLV at home. With that being said, expect the Cardinal to provide a heavy dose of the run game in this matchup while neutralizing the playmakers for the Trojans for much of the game. I really do not expect the total to come near its set amount.
