Wyoming Cowboys vs Missouri Tigers

The Wyoming Cowboys will take to the road once again to battle the Missouri Tigers on 9-8-2018 for a week 2 college football showdown at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.  The Tigers are fresh off a 51-14 home blowout of Tennessee-Martin in the opener as they would cover the spread (-35.5) while the over was the play with 59.5 points being set.  Wyoming would go to 1-1 on the season after a 41-17 home blowout at the hands of Washington State on Saturday to where they would miss out on the cover (+3.5) while the over is 45.5 points was surpassed.  This will be the first ever meeting amongst these two squads, however, both will be looking to either get back into the win column, or, maintain their momentum from their last stellar victory.

Missouri Tigers's Latest Performance :

How Wyoming Cowboys & Missouri Tigers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Missouri is 1-0 ATS while the O/U is 1-0

Wyoming is 1-1 ATS while the O/U is 1-1

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Cowboys were embarrassed at home last week against a Pac 12 team in Wazzou.  This week, they will travel to SEC country to face the Tigers, who are on a high after getting a big win over the Skyhawks last weekend.  This will be an interesting game in that you have a stellar defensive unit for Wyoming looking to maintain its dominance over a Tiger team that would rack up well over 500 yards of offense in their opening week win.  On the other hand, you have a Wyoming offense that ran all over what was billed as a run tough WSU defense in week 1, yet, the health of Evans will certainly be a factor moving forward.  With the Tigers giving up less than 100 yards on the ground last week, it will also be interesting to see how the Cowboys are able to implement their running game against Missouri on Saturday, assuming their star will not suit up.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Wyoming Cowboys +17.5

My reason for the pick :

The Tigers should be given much credit for handling business against an overmatched Tennessee-Martin squad, however, the Cowboys will be ready to play after a game to which they would like to forget as soon as possible in their home opener.  As stated, the running back position may become a huge issue as time goes on for the Boys, so, the Tigers may sneak out a win in the matchup, but not before they become very familiar with the overall toughness and talent that floods the Wyoming defense.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 52.5

My reason for the prediction :

Again, the Wyoming defense is very much talented, so, I would not expect the Tigers to gain as many yards on offense in this battle.  On the other hand, the Cowboys offense is very one-sided as the QB position needs to get better.  With that being said,  I will back the under in this matchup as I feel that the Cowboys certainly have something to prove in losing big to the Cougars last week.  It is for this reason that I expect them to come out controlling the trenches along with the pace of this game, thus allowing the under to be the strong play.

Betting trends for Wyoming Cowboys:

    • Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. SEC
    • Under is 4-0 in Cowboys last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home
    • Under is 4-0 in Cowboys last 4 road games.

Betting trends for Missouri Tigers:

    • Over is 5-0 in Tigers last 5 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game
    • Tigers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win
    • Under is 5-1 in Tigers last 6 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game
