Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Boise State Broncos vs Oklahoma State Cowboys

The 17th ranked Boise State Broncos will travel to T. Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to battle the 19th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday at 3:30 pm EST in what will be the first ever meeting amongst the two teams.  Both teams have played stellar up to this point as the Broncos would get a 62-7 blowout win over the UConn Huskies in week 2 as they would cash in on the spread (-34) while the over was the play with the total being set at 63 points for the game while the Cowboys would pick up a 55-13 home win over the Jaguars of South Alabama last Saturday.  The Cowboys would also cash in on the spread (–30.5) while the over of 64 points was surpassed.  Look for this to be an offensive showdown as both teams certainly have the playmakers in which to make this an exciting and interesting contest.

Boise State Broncos 's Latest Performance :

The Boise State Broncos would jump all over the UConn Huskies in their last time out as they were able to take a 41-0 lead into halftime while outscoring the road team 21-7 in the second half en route to a week 2 win.  Brett Rypien will lead the offense against a stingy Cowboys defense that is only allowing 143 yards per game while also giving up a total of 94 yards on the ground.  Alexander Mattison along with Andrew Van Buren will both be looking towards the challenge of spearheading the Bronco rushing attack against a defense that is allowing opponents to average 15 points per game in 2018.  John Hightower and A.J. Richardson will lead the receiving corps for Boise State in this matchup as they both seek to duplicate their 100-yard performances in week 2 in which to get a win for the road team.  This will definitely be an important matchup for both teams as they each will be looking to prove to the country that they are deserving of a higher ranking due to their consistency on the field.

Oklahoma State Cowboys's Latest Performance :

The Oklahoma State Cowboys would open a 31-13 lead at the half and would never look back as they were led by Taylor Cornelius who would have 428 yards passing along with 2 touchdown passes against the South Alabama Jaguars in a week 2 victory.  The Cowboys would rack up a total of 617 yards of offense while holding the Jaguars to only 214 yards for the game.  They will now turn their attention to a team that has play similar on both sides in Boise State as they are 24th in total yards with 286 yards in total defense per game while the Cowboys lead the nation in total yards per game on offense with 675 yards per game.  Chuba Hubbard and Keondre Wudtee will lead the rushing attack against a Bronco defense that allows 123 yards rushing per outing, good for 44th in the nation, while receivers Tylan Wallace and Tyron Johnson will look to take advantage of a unit that allows 163 yards total per game in the air to their opponents.  Also, the Cowboys are ranked 5th in the country in points scored with 59 while the Broncos are 25th in the country in points scored with 13.5 per game, overall.

How Boise State Broncos & Oklahoma State Cowboys Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Oklahoma State is 1-1 ATS while the O/U is 2-0

Boise State is 2-0 ATS while the O/U is 2-0

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be a huge opportunity for Boise State to show what they are made of.  Of course, they are known as a team that possess talent on an annual basis, however, with the way they have played combined with the overall talent that they have on both sides of the ball, they can certainly break some barriers this year starting with a win on Saturday.  Expect both teams to come out focused on getting their passing game going early as both quarterbacks will look to sling the football across the field for 4 quarters in hopes of pulling out an all-important victory.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Boise State Broncos +3

My reason for the pick :

With both teams so similar in their style of play, I will expect his to be a tight game to where momentum will constantly shift from one team to the other throughout the matchup.  I happen to also believe that Boise State will certainly be ready and focused for this matchup in that they will not have many chances to play on such a stage.  OSU, on the other hand, will certainly have a chance to recover should they lose in this matchup.  With that being said, expect the Broncos to take full advantage of this opportunity as they will certainly keep this game close while also having a chance to win outright.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Over 63.5

My reason for the prediction :

With the type of offense that both teams run along with the numerous playmakers at Rypien’s and Cornelius’s disposal, I will back the over in this matchup.  Again, while both defenses have been stellar in the first couple weeks of the season, their opponents up to this point will not compare to the competition that they will be facing on Saturday afternoon.  With that being said, I expect both teams to get going early and often on offense as both will certainly have something to prove.  I see this as an up and down game to where the last team with the ball will have the best chance of pulling out a win.
