Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
San Diego State Aztecs vs Nevada Wolfpack
The San Diego Aztecs will travel to McKay Stadium in Reno, Nevada, to face the Nevada Wolfpack on Saturday night at 10:30 pm EST. In their last outing, the Aztecs picked up the 42-23 home victory as they covered as 17-point favorites. The Aztecs are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings while the favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last five games, overall. San Diego State picked up a 16-13 home win over the San Jose State Spartans last weekend as John Baron II kicked a 51-yard field goal with 4:36 seconds remaining in the game to seal the victory for the Aztecs. The Wolfpack picked up a 40-22 road win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in their last outing as they racked up 220 yards on the ground while halting a two-game losing skid in the meantime. The home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings amongst these two squads.
San Diego State Aztecs's Latest Performance :
Nevada also had a great day on the ground versus the Rainbow Warriors last Saturday as they had 220 yards rushing for the day with Toa Tauo rushing for 126 yards and a touchdown in the game. Ty Gangi threw for 247 yards and a pass TD as well while Kaleb Fossum led the receiving corps with 86 yards on six catches in the victory, their fourth outing to which they scored 30 points or more. The defense, however, allowed 259 yards along with three TD’s to Cole McDonald of Hawaii, yet, only allowed the road team to convert three for 15 third down conversion for the contest. Nevada stands at 2-2 in the Mountain west in the fourth place slot and will certainly love to knock off the Aztecs who are two slots above them. They will find it difficult, however, as the Aztecs had a powerful rushing attack that averages a tad under 180 rushing yards per game while they allow only 139 yards per outing.
Nevada Wolfpack's Latest Performance :
San Diego State got three huge field goals from John Baron II including a 51 yarder late in the fourth quarter to get the home victory for the Aztecs, who won their sixth straight game. Chase Jasmin (79 yards, TD) along with Chance Bell (81 yards) led the rushing attack that accumulated 207 total yards in the game while Ryan Agnew threw for only 86 yards in the contest. While the Aztecs have not been blowing out their opponents with their average win being 6.6 points, they have found ways to win as they are also awful versus the spread this year in going 2-5 for the year. They are second place within the Mountain West Western division as Fresno State holds the top spot at 3-0. They will certainly need a win over the Wolfpack in order to remain in the race for first.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
San Diego State is 2-5 ATS while the OU is 1-6

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This will be an interesting Mountain West matchup as the Aztecs will look to continue their success while Nevada seeks to build from their last win while remaining competitive within the Western division of the Mountain West. San Diego State, however, has dominated this matchup in the past, however, the Wolfpack may indeed have found their stride on offense as they are ranked 45th in the nation in averaging 32 points per game for 2018 despite putting up only 30 points total prior to them hanging 40 on Hawaii.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: San Diego State Aztecs -2.5
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Aztecs in this matchup as they are on a stellar winning streak lately in winning six straight games and while it will certainly not be easy getting a road win over a dangerous Nevada squad, I believe that the Aztecs will sneak out a win as well as cover the spread as they have done numerous times before. In other words, San Diego State has a knack for pulling out close victories and with a great field goal kicker in Baron II, expect the road team to grind out a low scoring and competitive Mountain West matchup win on Saturday.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 47.5
My reason for the prediction :
The under has been the play in in the last four games for the Aztecs while it has also been the result in the last four outings for the Wolfpack as well. With that being the case, look for the under to be the play in this matchup as both offenses have labored lately. Also, San Diego State has only put up 29 points in their last two road games while Nevada has only averaged only 19 points per game in their last three games, overall. In all, look for the under to be a strong play in this contest.
