Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Georgia Bulldogs vs Kentucky Wildcats
The 5th ranked Georgia Bulldogs will travel to Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday to battle 12th ranked Kentucky Wildcats at 3:30 pm EST for a huge SEC battle. Georgia is ranked in the top spot within the SEC East, once again, while coming off a 36-17 shellacking of the Florida Gators in Jacksonville in their last outing as their defense collected three turnovers while Jake Fromm passed for three TD’s in the win. The Wildcats also came off a slim, 15-14 road win over Missouri in their last time out. Lynn Bowden Jr scored on a 67-yard punt return for UK while Terry Wilson found C.J. Conrad for a two-yard pass to seal the competitive victory. The last time these teams met, the Bulldogs picked up the 42-13 home win as they covered as 23.5-point home favorites while UGA racked up 381 yards on the ground in the victory. In fact, Georgia is 5-0 ATS versus Kentucky in their last five outings while the favorites are 5-0 ATS in the last five, overall.
Georgia Bulldogs's Latest Performance :
Georgia atoned for its last defeat versus LSU after their bye week by whipping up on a Florida Gators team that simply found no answers to the Bulldogs balanced attack as they collected 189 yards for the game while Fromm passed for 240 yards and three scores for a passing attack that averaged ten yards per catch. Their defense held Florida to only 275 yards as Felipe Franks passed for 105 yards, TD, along with a pick in the game while Lamichael Perrine ended with 62 yards on 14 carries in the loss.
Nonetheless, UGA will now move on after regaining the top spot within the SEC East to face a Kentucky defense that has had to be stout all year long due to proper and adequate offensive output from their counterparts. Of course, they will have to contain Snell Jr in this contest as he can certainly be dangerous when giving room to operate.
Kentucky Wildcats's Latest Performance :
Kentucky scored 15 points or less in their third outing last Saturday as they squeaked by a Missouri team, which can certainly put some points on the board, in a 15-14 road win. Nonetheless, the Wildcats defense limited them to only 2.4 yards per carry on the ground along with Drew Lock throwing for only 165 yards total for the game. Kentucky only averaged 2.6 yards per carry with Benny Snell Jr leading the attack with only 19 rushes on 67 yards while Wilson ended with 267 yards, TD, along with an INT in the win. Finally, Bowden Jr ended an outstanding day in having 166 yards receiving on 13 catches for Kentucky.
In all, Kentucky’s defense has been their saving grace this year in allowing just 13 point per game to their opponents while ranking within the top 25 in every other defensive category. They will certainly need to focus versus a UGA team that is averaging 39 points per game while having a punishing rushing attack that averages 222 yards on the ground.
How Georgia Bulldogs & Kentucky Wildcats Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Georgia is 4-4 ATS while the OU is 3-4
Kentucky is 4-4 ATS while the OU is2-6
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Georgia will seek to dominant another SEC opponent in Kentucky on Saturday as they received a huge wakeup call versus the Tigers just two weeks ago. Of course, Kentucky will be looking to put up some points on a solid Georgia defense that has allowed only 16 points per game this season. In all, this will be a defensive battle as both will not want to give any inch to their opponent throughout. Also, the Wildcats have only allowed ten points per game in their five home games in 2018.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Kentucky Wildcats +9.5
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Wildcats in this contest to keep the game tight for much of the game. Snell will look to gain some ground on a defensive front for Georgia that will look to continue their dominance from a week ago versus Florida. With that being said, look for there to be a battle in the trenches, as stated, as I expect the Bulldogs to pull out a close victory to where the Wildcats will cover.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 43.5
My reason for the prediction :
Again, this will certainly be an under game as both defenses have proven that they are legitimate pass and run stoppers. Of course, Kentucky’s offense has been dismal all season long, so, for them to pull out a victory, the defense must put in yet another near flawless performance in which to give their team a chance at victory. Nonetheless, the under will certainly remain below its set limit.
