Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Oregon State Beavers vs Stanford Cardinal

The Oregon State Beavers will travel to Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California, to face the Stanford Cardinal this Saturday at 9 pm EST in Pac 12 college football action.  The Cardinal have been in a tailspin recently in losing four of their last five game while also dropping two straight.  Their last defeat came at the hands of the Washington Huskies as they suffered the 27-23 road loss as they were shut out in the first half of the contest while giving up 21 points to the home team in the meantime.  And despite a late rally led by Keven Costello with two touchdown passes to two different receivers, the Cardinals fell to fourth in the Pac 12 North division with the loss.

The Beavers fell back to their losing ways after beating up on the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder last weekend as they suffered a 38-21 home loss to the Trojans of USC in their last outing.  Their defense showed no fight at all since the visitors were able to put up 331 yards on the ground for the game en route to the victory.  Oregon State remains in the cellar of the Pac 12 North with their remaining game being on the road versus Washington along with a home finale with Oregon.  The Beavers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings with Stanford.

Oregon State Beavers's Latest Performance :

Oregon State takes to the road once again to where they are 1-3 on the season to face a Stanford team that is reeling and in desperate need of a win.  Of course, the Beavers seek to end the season on a strong note while picking up a confidence building win over Stanford.  This will not be easy as the home team is certainly stout on the defensive side of the ball; However, OSU will certainly bring its balanced offensive attack to Stanford Stadium in which to test the resolve of the Cardinal defensive unit.

Jake Luton threw for 301 yards along with a TD in their last outing while Isiah Hoskins had 129 yard receiving and a score.  The defense was horrible as usual in allowing 331 yards on the ground to the Trojans of USC as Aca’Cedric Ware rushing for three TD’s along with 203 yards total.  In all, the Oregon state defensive unit has given up 30 or more points in their last five games, overall.

Stanford Cardinal's Latest Performance :

Stanford cannot seem to catch a beak this year as they continue to lose tight ball games.  In fact, their last 27-23 loss at the hands of the Washington Huskies marked the second time in two games that they have suffered a loss of five points or less, with the other being a 41-38 home loss to the Washington State Cougars.  In all, both sides of the ball are struggling at this point as the Cardinal are losers of four of five games.

KJ Costello passed for 347 yards in the game along with two TD’s; However, threw three picks that really took points off the board for Stanford as most were on promising drives.  Costello is no stranger to 300 yards games as he has done so in four of his last six games while also having 12 touchdown passes along with six INT’s for the year.  Kaden Smith led the receiving corps with 107 yards and a TD catch in the game while the rushing attack was led by Bryce Love with 71 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinal defense performed well on defense in allowing Washington only 371 yards total for the game, however, Myles Gaskins and the rushing attack for Washington torched them with 177 yards rushing for the day with Gaskins having 248 yards along with a TD.  Otherwise, the Cardinal defense comes into this game ranking 48th in the country in stopping the run along with 23.7 points per game.

How Oregon State Beavers & Stanford Cardinal Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Oregon State is 3-6 ATS while the OU is 6-3

Stanford is 5-4 ATS while the OU is 5-4

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Stanford will certainly be looking to get back on track in this game, however, with the Beavers playing well thus far in the season on offense, they will certainly need to buckle down on defense to not make this game harder than what it needs to be.  Of course, the Beaver defense is awful and will attempt to limit scoring opportunities to Stanford, however, they have been so inconsistent during the 2018 season, that it would be difficult to count one them for four quarters.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Stanford Cardinal -24

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Cardinal in this game as they are simply the better team with the much better defense.  In fact, the Cardinal will neutralize the offense for the Beavers for much of this game thus allowing them to get the win and cover their huge spread.  Also, look for Stanford to incorporate their dismal rushing attack into the game plan as Oregon State ranks 126th in the country in defending the rush.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Over 59.5

My reason for the prediction :

I feel that the over will indeed be the play in this contest as the Beavers will manage to put some points on the board on Stanford’s defense. On the other hand, despite the Cardinal being inconsistent all season, they will manage to put up scores throughout this game as well.  In all, look for the game to balloon as far as the score is concerned as Stanford will benefit most along with those backing the over.
