Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Miami Hurricanes vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The struggling Miami Hurricanes will take a trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, to battle the surging Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in ACC action this Saturday at 7 pm EST.  The Hurricanes come into the game losers of three straight games with their last defeat coming at home versus the Duke Blue Devils in a 20-12 loss last weekend.  The offense could not move the ball at all despite having 300 yards rushing on the night; However, with two lost fumbles, the Canes certainly did not help their cause.

The Yellow Jackets picked up their second straight win and fourth in five games, versus the North Carolina Tar Heels due to a 38-28 score to where the rushing attack continued to roll over defenses by putting up 461 yards for the game with Tobias Oliver throwing for a touchdown pass while also rushing for two.  The Canes picked up the one-point victory in their last outing, a 25-24 home win, to where the Yellow Jackets covered the spread.  The Hurricanes are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings while the favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last ten games amongst these two teams.

Miami Hurricanes 's Latest Performance :

The Hurricanes are also looking towards the bowl season after their loss to the Duke Blue Devils last weekend.  With a record of 5-4 along with a remaining schedule that includes a road game versus Virginia Tech along with a road game versus the Pitt Panthers to end the season, they do not have an easy road either.  With that being said, they also have much incentive to come out focused and intense in winning this ball game.

The Canes snuck by the Yellow Jackets in their last time out and will seek to do the same on the road by somehow using their passing attack, that has struggled lately, to take advantage of a shaky pass secondary for the Yellow Jackets.  In fact, with the team switching between Malik Rosier and N’Kosi Perry under center, the unit cannot find any cohesiveness or consistency.  They look to get back onto the winning track versus a Yellow Jackets defenses that has allowed close to 30 points in their last four outings.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets's Latest Performance :

The Yellow Jackets are playing for a bowl game at this point of the season and at 5-4 with remaining games versus Virginia and Georgia, they may need this game badly in which to qualify.  They did their best to accomplish their goal with a 38-28 road win over the North Carolina Tar Heels in their last outing as Tobias Oliver commanded the triple option with precision in gaining 120 rushing yards on the day along with two touchdowns.  He also threw for 104 yards along with another touchdown pass to Qua Searcy, who led the receiving corps with 86 yards on only one catch for the day.

The defense took advantage of three interceptions by Nathan Elliot for the Heels while also allowing under 400 total yards for the game.  Most importantly, they are 4-1 ATS in their last five outings while the offense is averaging close to 50 points per game during this time.

How Miami Hurricanes & Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Miami is 3-6 ATS while the OU is 5-4

Georgia Tech is 4-5 ATS while the OU is 5-3

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Yellow Jackets will be looking for payback in this game as they lost a heartbreaker last year to Miami.  In other words, they will certainly love to pay them back at home while becoming bowl eligible at the same time.  Of course, the Hurricanes will come into this matchup focused as well knowing that if they are not able to beat the Yellow Jackets, they will have to gather wins against either the defensive minded Cavaliers or the surging Pitt Panthers in their finale.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -3

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Yellow Jackets in this outing as they have played better lately while running their triple option to perfection.  Miami, on the other hand, are having serious offensive problems and this will likely continue on the road where they are 1-3 ATS on the year.  Again, the Yellow Jackets will look to find success versus a rush defense that was pushed around by Duke last weekend.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 55.5

My reason for the prediction :

The under was not only the play the last time these teams met, but, has been the result in the last three games for the Hurricanes.  On the other hand, the under was the play in the last home game for Georgia Tech as they lost to the Duke Blue Devils by a 28-14 score.  With that being the case, look for the under to be the strong play in what will be a competitive ACC contest.
