Virginia Cavaliers's Latest Performance :
The Virginia Cavaliers have been a surprise in the ACC as they lost a ton of starters from 2017 but haven’t missed a beat as they currently sit at 7-3 which is already the most wins since 2011. The Cavaliers were able to win their recent matchup with an in-state foe in the Liberty Flames as they received a solid offensive outing. Dual Threat QB Bryce Perkins was able to throw for 2 TDs behind a 168-yard effort but his presence was also felt on the ground as the former Arizona State Sun Devil rushed for 89 yards and 2 TDs. Perkins is the 2nd leading rusher for the Cavaliers as the junior has rushed for 657 yards and 8 TDs on the season. Joining Perkins with an effective day on the ground was senior RB Jordan Ellis as he contributed 106 yards and 1 TD. Perkins was able to connect with his favorite target Olamide Zaccheaus 7 different times for 86 yards. Zaccheaus is just shy of a 1000 yard season as he enters this matchup with 807 yards and 6 TDs. Both of Perkins touchdown passes were to junior WR Joe Reed, Reed now has 4 TD catches on the season. Joe Reed didn’t only have an impact as a pass catcher but he also returned a kick return for a TD. The Virginia defense was solid especially through the air as they were able to pick off Liberty on 3 different occasions. Senior safety Juan Thornhill stood out on the defense for the Cavaliers as he had a team-high 13 tackles as well as came down with his 5th interception on the season.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets's Latest Performance :
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets got their 6th win in a fashionable way as they were able to beat the Miami Hurricanes at home in a grind it out type of game. The Yellow Jackets were effective on the offensive side of the ball but their defense stepped up and made big plays when they needed to. The triple option attack was led by no other than senior QB TaQuon Marshall as he carried the ball 24 times for 96 yards and 2 TDs. Marshall has been solid all season in the triple option attack as he currently sits 2nd on the team with 751 yards and 11 TDs. Backup QB Tobias Oliver is the leading rusher for the Yellow Jackets but he was limited in the Miami outing with only 1 carry which went for 1 yard. Marshall was also able to contribute through the air in the few opportunities he had as he went 3 for 4 with 73 yards and a TD. Marshall connected with senior WR Brad Stewart on a 31-yard pass which gives Stewart 12 catches for 177 yards and 2 TDs. The defense was solid especially through the air as they held the Hurricanes to only 165 yards. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior linebacker Brant Mitchell as he racked up 8 tackles which puts his season total at 48. Mitchell’s LB partner Jalen Johnson had a big game himself as he was able to match Mitchell with 7 tackles.

My reason for the pick :
The Yellow Jackets are playing better football than the Virginia Cavaliers right now as they will be using a big win over Miami to string together wins against Virginia as well as their big rival, Georgia. The rushing attack for the Yellow Jackets has been lights out this season and although Virginia has a solid run defense it won’t be enough. Georgia Tech showed the ability to stop a dual-threat QB last week against Miami and I think they bring the same intensity at home once again. Take Georgia Tech to win comfortably.
