Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Utah State Aggies vs Colorado State Rams

The 23rd ranked Utah State Aggies will travel to Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado, to face the Colorado State Rams on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm EST.  The Aggies continue to rack up high scoring, dominating wins over their opponents as they picked up a 62-24 home win over the San Jose State Spartans in their last time out as the offense put up over 800 yards of total offense including 296 yards on the ground to a Spartan team that was imply manhandled throughout the game in every way.  The Aggies have covered the spread in each contest this year aside from a road victory over Wyoming to where they failed to cover as 13.5-point favorites.

The Rams lost their third straight game to the Nevada Wolfpack, after winning two straight prior, on the road due to a 49-10 shellacking to where their averaged only 2.2 yards per rush along with 4.7 yards per catch against an aggressive Wolfpack defensive unit.  Their offense, or lack thereof, has been a primary catalyst for their losing season this year, however, they look to get back into the win column versus one of the most dangerous offensive squads in the country.

While the Rams have covered in the last two games amongst these teams, the Aggies have covered in three of the last five.  The Rams picked up the 27-14 win last year while also covering as 9.5-point favorites.

Utah State Aggies's Latest Performance :

The Aggies have been on a tear since their week one loss at Michigan State to where they almost pulled out a slim victory.  They are putting up 51 points per outing this season while scoring 60 points twice in their last three games.  Jordan Love continues to do well under center as he threw for five TD passes in the Aggies most recent win over San Jose State.  On the other hand, the rushing attack racked up 296 yards with Darwin Thompson leading the way with 140 yards along with a score.

The win was a total team effort as the defense collected three turnovers while holding the Spartans rushing attack to only 2.2 yards per rush.  While it is true that the Aggies have demolished their competition this year, they look to maintain their momentum versus a Colorado State team looking to end the season on a strong note.

Colorado State Rams's Latest Performance :

Colorado State will not go bowling this year as they find themselves at 3-7 overall while also being losers of their last three games overall.  Their offense has been a catalyst for their losing problems this year as they are only putting up 23 points per game.  Their defense has also been horrible in allowing 39 points per outing while allowing close to 50 per game during their current three game slide.  Nonetheless, QB Collin Hill was the shining star for the Rams versus the Wolfpack as he threw for 186 yards and a TD in the game as the Rams only put 260 total yards on the stat sheet for the night.  On the other hand, the defense game up 696 yards total to Nevada as Ty Gangi and the passing game led the charge with four touchdown passes on 404 yards.

It would be safe to say that the Rams are simply not a good team this year.  With that being said, they will find it very difficult to contain an upper echelon offense such as that of Utah State.

How Utah State Aggies & Colorado State Rams Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Utah State is 9-1 ATS while the OU is 9-1

Colorado State is 3-7 ATS while the OU is 4-6

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Ass stated, the Rams are simply in need of getting some wins in which to build off in the offseason.  The problem is that they will need to improve on both sides of the ball in order to keep this game close while possibly getting the victory.  On the other hand, the Aggies game plan will remain the same as they are potent in the run as well as in the pass.  In all, look for them to not overlook this team as they are playing for the Mountain West Championship in addition to a prime-time bowl game.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Utah State Aggies -28

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Aggies in this matchup as they have proven that they are virtually unstoppable when they are controlling the line of scrimmage.  In fact, because they are effective at the point of contact, the Aggies are able to destroy their opponents.  With that being said, look for this game to get out of hand quickly as Utah Sate will be focused on getting a win while looking forward to garnering momentum as they prepare to play their finale versus Boise State next weekend.  In other words, they will certainly want another outstanding performance this weekend before they take the field for a game that will decided the division winner.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Over 68

My reason for the prediction :

I will pick the over to be the strong play in this matchup as Utah State is such a dangerous offensive team.  And with the defense for the Rams being so terrible all season, look for them to struggle yet again with Love and the passing attack for the Aggies.  In all, look for the scoreboard to light up early and often in favor of the road team.
