The Alabama Crimson Tide return home to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the regular season finale as they will play their cross-state rival in the Auburn Tigers in an SEC clash, the opening kickoff is at 3:30 PM. The Crimson Tide will head to the SEC Championship game following this matchup while Auburn will be playing in a bowl game.
Auburn Tigers's Latest Performance :
The Auburn Tigers are sitting at 7-4 but they are still going through a down year especially to their standards as they have gone 3-4 in conference play and won’t be in contention for a big bowl game. The Tigers got a much-needed confidence booster last weekend when they welcomed in the Liberty Flames which turned into a 53-0 Tigers win. QB Jarrett Stidham had a solid game against Liberty as he threw for 178 yards and 2 TDs while also adding in a TD on the ground. Stidham hasn’t been a top QB like we expected coming into this season but he has still been very good as he has thrown for 2294 yards, 12 TDs, and 4 interceptions while adding 3 rushing TDs. The ground game has been better than what most people expected this season as JaTarvious Whitlow has racked up 716 yards and 4 TDs on the season. Kam Martin has been a good backup for Whitlow all season but he showed why he is starter worthy against Liberty as he ran for 116 yards on 17 carries. There hasn’t been one WR who has really been the star but they have 3 different guys with 400+ yards which shows the depth of this team. WR Seth Williams had the biggest game out of any pass catcher in this outing as he brought down 5 catches for 109 yards and a TD. The Auburn defense was stiff in this game as they kept Liberty scoreless but they will have their hands tied this week with Alabama. LB Deshaun Davis had a game-high 7 tackles while Darrell Williams came down with an interception.
Alabama Crimson Tide's Latest Performance :
The Alabama Crimson Tide played their traditional FCS opponent before playing Auburn and although it was 10-10 at halftime Nick Saban had his crew ready for the 2nd half as they won 50-17. Star QB Tua Tagovailoa had yet another great game for the Crimson Tide as he threw for 340 yards and 3 TDs while adding 37 yards and a TD on the ground. Tagovailoa is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and for obvious reasons, as he has thrown for 2865 yards, 31 TDs, and only 2 interceptions while adding 4 rushing TDs. The ground game was once again explosive as Damien Harris rushed for 83 yards on 7 carries while Najee Harris picked up 51 yards on 4 catches. The backfield has been a 2-headed monster all season long as Damien Harris leads the team with 678 yards and 7 TDs with his backup Najee Harris following closely with 639 yards and 4 TDs. Jerry Jeudy didn’t have a big game to his standards as he picked up 77 yards on 6 catches but he was able to crack the 1000-yard mark on the season as he currently has 1002 yards and 10 TDs. Henry Ruggs racked up 114 yards on 6 catches while Jaylen Waddle had 90 yards and 2 TD catches. The defense for the Crimson Tide was caught by surprise with the triple option offense they faced last week but they adjusted well in the 2nd half. LB Mack Wilson had a big game for Alabama as he racked up 9 tackles to give him 52 on the season.

My reason for the pick :
The Alabama Crimson Tide are one of the best teams in college football history but this is a rivalry game and they have a different feel to them. I am siding with the Auburn Tigers and the big spread in this matchup as I feel like Alabama will be looking ahead to the SEC Championship and overlook Auburn as they are having a down year. The Tigers showed the ability to score last weekend against Liberty but what really keeps them in this game is their 10th ranked defense against the 3rd ranked offense. I think the Tigers string some stops together to keep this game within 3 TDs and a FG which is why I will stick with Auburn on the road.
