Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Colorado State Rams vs Air Force Falccons

Disappointing seasons for the Colorado State Rams as well as for the Air Force Falcons will come to a conclusion as the teams will meet at Falcons Stadium, in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Thursday  afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Falcons come into this game losers of three of their last four games with their last loss coming at the hands of the Wyoming Cowboys on the road as they suffered that 35-27 loss. The Falcons actually were ahead 27-21 late in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys scored on a Tyler Vander Wall touchdown pass which put the home team up by one point. A field goal was added by Wyoming in which to seal the victory while handing the Falcons yet another defeat on the season.

On the other hand, the Colorado State Rams Lost their fourth straight game due to a 29-24 home loss to the Utah State Aggies as  the Rams also took a slim 24-23 lead with 1:53 remaining in the 4th quarter, however, Jordan Love found Aaron Vaughns for a 33 yard touchdown pass to seal the victory as Time expired. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings amongst these teams at Falcons stadium.

Colorado State Rams's Latest Performance :

The Rams of Colorado State Continues to struggle on the season as well as they have also had issues within their offense as it relates to moving the ball consistently. And while they’re rushing attack is not very potent at all in ranking 116th in the nation, its passing attack is ranked 16th in the country and putting up close to 300 yards per game. Collin Hill has taken the reigns from KJ Carta-Samuels under center and has done well for the Rams in his last couple starts. In fact, he finished with 296 yards along with two TD passes in the last matchup for Colorado State versus the Aggies of Utah State. Nonetheless, he also threw two picks in the game as this was his 5th pick in his last three outings compared to only throwing three touchdown passes during this time.

Aside from allowing close to 450 total yards to their opponents  per outing, the Rams of Colorado State are ranked in the 100’s in every major defensive category in 2018.   And while the defense held the high-scoring offensive attack for Utah State to only 300 total yards for the game, the Aggies were able to maintain possession at critical moments for the game as they would pick up the hard-fought victory in the end.   The Rams would certainly like to end the season with a decent showing versus a physical Air Force Falcon squad that is also looking to bring to a conclusion a horrible season.

Air Force Falccons's Latest Performance :

The Air Force Falcons have simply not been able to get over the hump in 2018 as they have been up and down throughout the year. And while they’re rushing attack continues to be ranked 5th in the nation, the offense for Air Force has simply been too inconsistent this year, thus lending to the slow start and finish for the Falcons. The offense rush for 362 yards versus a solid Wyoming defense in their last matchup, however.  Nonetheless, Donald Hammond III threw 2 interceptions for the Falcons in route to the huge defeat.

On the other hand, the defense for the Falcons allowed Tyler Vander Wahl to throw for 226 yards along with two touchdown passes for Wyoming while its rushing attack was allowed 111 yards on the ground. Again, the Falcons, from a statistical standpoint, it’s certainly not a bad team; However,  when one views this team in real time they will certainly come to the conclusion that this Falcons team certainly allows too many points to their opponents while their offense has not been able to kick its inconsistency on offense, either.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

As stated, look for both teams to be focused on getting a win in this contest as it will be their last  matchup of the 2018 season. Both teams have had awful seasons as their offenses were truly underwhelming throughout the year.  On the other hand, the Falcons and the Rams will attempt to put their horrendous seasons behind them while illustrating the necessary consistency and cohesiveness on both sides of the ball in which to get a much-needed victory.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Air Force Falcons -14

My reason for the pick :

Look for the Falcons to take control of this game late as the  Rams will not be able to hold up to such a punishing rushing attack. Also, with the Falcons picking up much-needed momentum and confidence in their last game versus the Cowboys, their ground game should be that much more effective versus a horrible defensive front for Colorado State in this matchup on Thursday. In all, expect Air Force to score often and early on this Rams team in their home finale while their defense will also put in a solid performance as well.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

The over has been to play in  two of the last three road games for the Colorado State Rams while also being the result in four of the last five home games for the Falcons. In other words, look for both teams to put some scores on the board in this matchup; However,  look for the Falcons, as stated, to take control of this game while unleashing they’re punishing rushing attack against a Rams defense that has had troubles defending the run all year long. With that being the case, look for the over to be the strong play in this matchup on Thursday.
