Florida Gators vs Florida State Seminoles
The Florida State Seminoles return to Doak Campbell Stadium for the regular season finale as they will welcome in their in-state rival in the Florida Gators, the opening kickoff is slated for 12:00 PM. The Florida State Seminoles are trying to extend their bowl streak while the Florida Gators are a verge New Years Six Bowl team.
Florida Gators's Latest Performance :
The Florida football program looks revived in year 1 of Dan Mullen as they currently sit at 8-3 and are prime candidates to make a New Years Six Bowl. The Gators got a nice tune-up game last week against FCS Idaho as they stomped out to a 49-0 lead at halftime and finishing the game off by winning 63-10. The Gators got a good outing out of the QBs in this matchup as starter Feleipe Franks threw for 274 yards and 3 TDs while adding 21 yards and a TD on the ground, backup QB freshmen Emory Jones threw for 125 yards and 2 TDs. Franks has looked better over the recent weeks for the Gatos as he currently enters week 13 with 2030 yards,20 TDs, and 6 interceptions while also adding 230 yards and 6 TDs on the ground. 3rd string RB Dameon Pierce received a lot of work in this game as he racked up 77 yards on 13 carries. The Gators playmakers saw a ton of action in this game as 13 different guys brought down a catch. Freshmen TE Kyle Pitts was able to bring down the first TD of his young career on a 52-yard pass while Van Jefferson, Tyrie Cleveland, Josh Hammond, and Dameon Pierce all contributed a TD apiece. The defense showed a flash of throwback Gator football as they held Idaho off the scoreboard for most of the game. Redshirt freshmen LB James Houston had a nice game with 5 tackles while Ventrell Miller and Chauncey Gardner all contributed an interception.
Florida State Seminoles's Latest Performance :
The Florida State Seminoles are coming off their first signature win in the Willie Taggart era as they upset Boston College at home but more importantly live to see another day in saving their bowl streak. Willie Taggart has been committed to redshirt junior QB Deondre Francois despite his inconsistency problems and all though he made some big throws against Boston College he still turned the ball over a good amount. Francois was able to throw for 322 yards and 1 TD but he also made some mental errors and threw for 2 interceptions. Francois has not looked like his redshirt freshmen season as he has thrown 14 TDs to 10 interceptions. RB Cam Akers was finally able to break through with his biggest game of the season as he ran for 110 yards and a TD on 14 carries. Akers is another one who hasn’t yet seen benefits in the new gulf coast offense as he has only rushed for 667 yards and 6 TDs through the first 11 games. Redshirt freshmen Tamorrion Terry had a huge day for the Seminoles as he was able to record 112 yards and a TD on 3 catches. Terry has benefited the most out of any Seminole offensive player as he has compiled over 666 yards and 8 TDs in his first season. The Florida State defense has been extremely hit or miss this season but they stepped up when the time called against Boston College. Junior LB Dontavious Jackson racked up a team-high 14 tackles while Stanford Samuels and Hamsah Nasirildeen both came down with an interception in this game.

Against The Spread Selection: Florida State Seminoles +4
My reason for the pick :
Looking at the overview of the season the Florida Gators should beat the Seminoles with ease but things looked a lot better in Tallahassee in their latest outing against Boston College and this game weighs even more than that game. Florida State owns the last few years against the Gators and I think with the bowl streak on the line in this game they will elevate their level of play. The Florida State offense looked good last week against a solid Boston College defense and I think the Seminoles continue their success in this game. Expect Florida State to keep this game close at the very minimum in their most important game in the last few years.
