Notre Dame Fighting Irish's Latest Performance :
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have continued to prove critics wrong as they have picked up yet another impressive win against a top 25 opponent as they beat Syracuse at Yankee Stadium 36-3. The Irish got back their starting QB in Ian Book and it proved to be a major distance as he threw for 292 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception. The junior has elevated the Fighting Irish to another level since being put in the starting lineup as he has racked up 2116 yards, 17 TDs, and 5 interceptions while also adding in 234 yards and 5 TDs on the ground. RB Dexter Williams was unable to match his performance from the Florida State game but he was still impressive as he rushed for 74 yards and a TD on 13 carries which gives him 844 yards and 11 TDs on the season. The WRs were able to give Book a tremendous amount of support against Syracuse as they were getting space from the defense as well as working back to the first year starter. WR Chase Claypool had the biggest game out of any Irish as he racked up 98 yards and a TD on 6 catches. The Irish top WR Miles Boykin was solid in the win as he was able to rack up 76 yards on 7 carries which gives the senior 730 yards and 8 TDs on the season. The Fighting Irish were arguably more impressive on the defensive side of the ball as they held an explosive offense to 3 points. Junior Safety Alohi Gilam had the biggest game out of anyone on the defense as he racked up 8 tackles and 2 interceptions.
USC Trojans's Latest Performance :
The USC Trojans now find themselves in a must-win situation this week after they dropped a game to their crosstown rivals last week as UCLA won 34-27. Freshmen QB J.T. Daniels has shown moments of excellence this year but has also made freshmen mistakes and this outing was no different as he threw for 337 yards and 2 TDs but also threw 2 interceptions. Daniels was able to throw for 2312 yards, 13 TDs, and 10 interceptions on the season but some of his struggles can be due to him being banged up all season. The ground game has shown great improvement since week 1 but UCLA made it impossible for the RBs to get loose as they stacked the box. Backup RB Vavae Malepeai shoulder most of the load for the Trojans as he had 15 carries go for 77 yards while Aca’Cedric Ware had 27 yards on 6 carries. Aca’Cedric Ware has been the Trojans best RB all season as he has rushed for 757 yards and 6 TDs while Malepeai has contributed 7 TDs himself. For most of the season, the pass catchers have been a 2 man show as Michael Pittman Jr. and Amon-Ra St. Brown have identical stat lines at 656 yards. Both guys had solid outings against UCLA as Pittman was able to bring down 7 catches for 106 yards while St. Brown had 6 catches for 98 yards and a TD. The defense for the Trojans is injury-depleted and it showed last game as they were unable to stop the ground attack. DB Iman Marshall had the best game out of any Trojan as he contributed 11 tackles while Isaiah Langley had the lone interception of the game.

Against The Spread Selection: Notre Dame Fighting Irish -10.5
My reason for the pick :
I will be siding with the hotter team in this matchup as USC got exposed last week and their flaws fall right into the what the Irish like to do on both sides of the ball. Notre Dame will pound the ball with Dexter Williams and if we learned anything last weekend its the fact that USC can’t stop anyone. The Fighting Irish should rattle the young QB similar to the way they destroyed the Syracuse backup QB as they will bring pressure and show different looks. The Fighting Irish currently sit in the current playoff projections and they want to put a seal on the talks by blowing USC out of the water in one last test. Take the Fighting Irish on the road.
