Washington Huskies vs Washington State Cougars
The Washington State Cougars return to Martin Stadium for the regular season finale as they will welcome in their in-state rivals in the Washington Huskies for a PAC-12 clash, the opening kickoff is slated for 8:30 PM. The winner of this matchup will advance to the PAC-12 championship as they will represent the North division.
Washington Huskies's Latest Performance :
The Washington Huskies have stuck around the top of the North division despite the Cougars winning 7 straight games and they now put themselves in prime position to take back the divisional crown. The Huskies are coming off a blowout victory against the Oregon State Beavers as they were able to put up 42 points. Senior QB Jake Browning looked good for Washington as he was able to throw for 242 yards and 3 TDs which has put his season stat line at 2485 yards, 16 TDs, and 8 interceptions. The Huskies have been known more so for their ground game on offense and despite Browning having a good game the two-headed monster in the backfield racked up a good amount of yards. Senior RB Myles Gaskin led the way for the Huskies on the ground as he racked up 135 yards and 1 TD while backup Salvon Ahmed put together a 76-yard performance with 2 TDs. Gaskin sits below the 1000-yard mark on the season as he enters this matchup with 906 yards and 7 TDs while Ahmed has 498 yards and 7 TDs. Browning was able to distribute the ball all around the field in this matchup as 9 different pass catchers caught a pass. The leading WR for the Huskies Aaron Fuller was only kept to 1 catch but that grab went for 17 yards and a TD. The defense has been one of the strongest units in the nation and although they let Oregon State score 23 points they adjusted in the 2nd half as they held them to 7. Senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven had yet another great outing for the Huskies as he contributed 11 tackles to extend his season total to a team-high 145 tackles.
Washington State Cougars's Latest Performance :
The Washington State Cougars have continued to make their mark in the college football world as they have won 7 straight games but their latest win was a statement to the playoff committee as they hung 55 points in a half against Arizona in route to a 69-28 win. Heisman Trophy candidate Gardner Minshew has continued to shred PAC-12 defenses as the grad transfer was able to rack up 473 yards and 7 TDs which has extended his season total to 4325 yards, 36 TDs, and 7 interceptions. Minshew has been a huge reason behind the Cougars success but their abundance of playmakers has elevated this team to a top offense in college football. Minshew was able to hook up with 11 different receivers with sophomore Davontavean Martin leading the way with 7 catches for 124 yards and a TD. The Cougars top WR Dezmon Patmon was kept in check by the Arizona defense as he was held to only 2 catches for 11 yards but he was able to get one of his catches into the end zone which was the 4th TD of the season for the junior. JUCO transfer Calvin Jackson Jr. was able to showcase his abilities in this game as well as he contributed 85 yards and 2 TDs. The RB room for the Cougars is one of the best in the conference as they have a two-headed monster leading the way. Freshmen Max Borghi had 50 yards and a TD on the ground as well as 65 yards through the air while James Williams contributed 50 yards and a TD on the ground and 32 yards and a TD through the air.

My reason for the pick :
The Washington State Cougars have taken the reins over in the PAC-12 as they look like a clear-cut favorite to win the conference championship as well as sneak into the College Football Playoffs. Washington has a great defense this year but Washington State has a great offense but somethings got to give in this game and I think the one area that points an advantage to the Cougars is their defense against Washington’s offense. Washington State has a top 40 defense and they have been playing good as of recent but Washington has not looked good on the offensive side of the ball especially against tough competition. Gardner Minshew is a 10x better QB than Jake Browning and that will be a major difference at home. Washington State is the best team in college football ATS while Washington is one of the worst. Take the Cougars to win.
