New Orleans, after scoring only 3 points in the first 3 quarters, would score 12 in the 4th, yet, would take the 20-15 home loss to Arizona after a 12-yard scamper by J.T. How New Orleans Saints & San Diego Chargers Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Chargers will come into this game fresh off a decent win versus the Seahawks in their last outing; However, the Saints would also build a bit of momentum in the 4th quarter of their recent loss at home to the Cardinals in their last time out. In all, this will certainly be an interesting matchup in that both teams will certainly be chomping at the bit to get yet another win. With the Chargers being at home, of course, tips the scales a bit, nonetheless, with both offenses doing next to nothing as it relates to consistency and productivity thus far, I would expect a close matchup that will be exciting throughout.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Los Angeles Chargers -2.5
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Chargers in this matchup in that the Saints have really had a rough go of it the past few weeks in attempting to find the end zone. While the Chargers have not been dominant by any stretch since the start of the preseason, they will certainly have what it takes to neutralize the weapons for the Saints at home. In all, this will be a low-scoring contest to where the Chargers will come up with some late 2nd half heroics in which to pull out an all-important victory in the end.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 43.5
My reason for the prediction :
With both offenses struggling at this point in the season along with them going against a set of defenses that are looking to improve vastly from their showings thus far, I would have to back the under in this instance as I certainly do not believe that the total will surpass the 43.5-mark. Again, the teams will likely rest their star QB’s for the remainder of the preseason which means fans will get a chance to see the new additions under center. On the other hand, for bettors, they will see the value in this by taking the under in this contest on Saturday.
