Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns

Week 1 NFL action will resume on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, as the Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at 1 pm EST.  These two division foes would meet twice last year with Pittsburgh taking both contests by an average of 3.5 points.  In both games, the Browns would cover the spread while the O/U was 1-1.  The Steelers look to build from their 3-1 preseason record in which to pick up a win in their opener after picking up a 39-24 home win on 8-30-2018 in which they would cover the spread (-2.5) while the over was the play with the total being set at 36.5 points.  The Browns will also look to continue their stellar play as they would end the preseason at 3-1 after picking up a 35-17 road win versus the Detroit Lions on 8-30-2018 to where they would also cover the spread (–2) while the over was the play with the total being 36.5 points, altogether.  This will be an exciting contest and will provide one team the inside tract in gaining momentum as it relates to division standings.

Cleveland Browns's Latest Performance :

Cleveland would only allow the Lions 15 first downs in a week 4 preseason win as they would post 83 yards rushing along with 170 yards passing.  The D would, however, allow the Lions to go 2 for 2 inside the red zone while Detroit would possess the ball for 26:31 minutes.  Nate Orchid would get a pick in this contest while Justin Currie would receive a sack along with 4 tackles (2 assists).  Denzel Rice (5 tackles), Jeremy Faulk (3 tackles), and Brady Sheldon (3 tackles) would also step up for a Browns defense that has become much more effective up front in the preseason.

How Pittsburgh Steelers & Cleveland Browns Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be a great division matchup to begin the season.  The Browns look to finally turn the corner after a productive preseason while the Steelers not only look to get off to a great start this year, but, they also look to continue their dominance over the Browns while remaining the bully of the conference.  Both teams could certainly use a win in week 1, and I have a feeling that this will certainly be the competitive game everyone (including me) thinks that it will become.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Cleveland Browns +5.5

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Browns to keep this game close on Sunday mainly due to how the Steelers D has played recently.  Of course, both teams will come out focused on getting a much-needed week 1 win, however, the Browns’ offense will certainly keep their team in the game throughout.  The defense for the Browns will step up in the end in which to allow the home team to put up a valiant fight, and will come out victorious as it relates to the spread in this contest.

Totals Selection: Pick:   Over 47

My reason for the prediction :

On one hand, you have a much improve defense for the Browns against the experience of the Steelers offense, particularly, their punishing run game.  On the other hand, the Steelers D, which has not been able to stop anyone during the preseason, while do battle against a Cleveland offense that hung 35 points on a Detroit team on the road in week 4 of the preseason.  I must say that I have belief that the Steelers will be ready to play while their offense will put some points on the board.  I also feel that the Browns will also put some points up as the Steelers have been shaky on defense early on.  In all, I will back the over in this contest as I expect both teams to have their stars on full display in what will be an interesting and exciting matchup.
