How Dallas Cowboys & Carolina Panthers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

After their awful preseason, the Cowboys should certainly be looking towards playing better in the regular season; However, they must do it on the road versus a Panther team that will be looking to come out the game strong once again in 2018.  Again, the last time these two teams met, the Panthers would dominate on their way to a blow out win.  I expect this to be an interesting matchup and one that could certainly get out of hand if the Dallas offense continues to struggle on the offensive end.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Carolina Panthers -2.5

My reason for the pick :

The Panthers averaged 26 ppg during the preseason while the Cowboys could only muster an average of 10 ppg in 4 outings in August.  Needless to say, the Boys seemed lifeless thus far in the 2018 campaign.  Nonetheless, they will be playing with its first teamers for the first time this season against a Panthers team that has certainly been not only a dangerous offensive team, but, one that dominated the Cowboys in their last matchup.  Of course, with Prescott at the helm I expect the Boys to play much better, however, not so good as to provide a challenge to a Panthers team on a high from feeling great concerning their new talent around Newton as well as feeling a bit confident from a defensive standpoint.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under (off)

My reason for the prediction :

While the Carolina defense has allowed a tad over 20 ppg during their preseason, I expect them to be at full throttle when they face the Cowboys at home on Sunday.  The Dallas D has allowed around 20 ppg as well in their 4 preseason games, however, this will certainly improve in the regular season as Dallas is known to possess a strong defense that will rise to the occasion, particularly, with no offense to speak of in the early stages of the season.  With that being said, I will take the under in this matchup in that though Dallas has struggled lately, they will keep this game close.  Here you have a Dallas defense that will look to be the tip of the spear early on until their offense begins to click again, while the other simply looks to protect leads by their offense in playing focused and intense defense in which to further lock down their opponents.

Betting trends for Dallas Cowboys:

    • Under is 4-0 in Cowboys last 4 games overall
    • Cowboys are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games
    • Under is 5-1 in Cowboys last 6 vs. NFC.

Betting trends for Carolina Panthers:

    • Under is 5-1 in Panthers last 6 games in Week 1
    • Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games
    • Over is 6-2 in Panthers last 8 games overall.
