Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Oakland Raiders vs Denver Broncos

The last three times the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders would get together, Denver would win outright two of three outings; Also, they would cover the spread in two of the last three outings while the under would be the result in each game.  On Sunday afternoon at 4:25 pm EST, they will once again renew their rivalry as the Raiders will travel to Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado, for week three NFL as the AFC West teams will seek to add a win to their resume for 2018.  In opening week, the Broncos would get the slim 27-24 home win over the Seattle Seahawks as the spread would be a push (-3) while the over would be the result with total of 42.5 being surpassed while the Raiders would be blown out by the Los Angeles Rams at home by a 33-13 score as they would not cash in on the spread as 6.5 underdogs while the under being the play with the total being set at 47.5 runs.

Oakland Raiders's Latest Performance :

The Oakland Raiders would have no answers for the running game for the Rams as hey were torched all night long by Todd Gurley as the Rams would go in at the half down 13-10; Nonetheless, they would take control of the trenches in the second half as they would outscore the home team 23-0 en route to the huge victory.  Derek Carr, however, would throw for 303 total yards for Oakland, yet, would throw three picks in the contest including a pick six to Marcus Peters which would seal the victory for the Rams and put them up by 20 points with two minutes remaining in the game.  Marshawn Lynch would have 41 yards on the ground with a score while the receiving corps was led by Jared Cook who would have an outstanding 183 total yards on nine catches while Jalen Richard would also have nine catches for 55 yards in the loss.  Amari Cooper would only have a catch for nine yards in defeat.  The Raiders were hit hard by the injury bug in their loss as Derek Carr (Probable-ankle) and Marshwan Lynch (Probable-illness) will be a game time decision.  Also tackle Gabe Jackson is questionable with a pectoral injury while DeAndre Washington (Questionable-knee) and Chris Warren III (IR-knee) will also likely not be in the lineup.  Kicker Eddie Pineiro is also on injured reserve with a Groin injury.  On the defensive side of the ball for the Broncos, linebacker Brandon Marshall (Probable-knee) along with defensive end Derek Wolfe (Questionable-Abdominal injury) will also be a game time decision for Denver.  Nonetheless, Carr and company will look to exploit their defense that ranks 19th in the league in pass defense while allowing 24 point per game.  Finally, with pieces alongside their defensive line and linebacker positions possible being out, they will also look to improve upon their running game that ranks 21st in the league with 95 yards per game; However, the Broncos sport a 3rd place ranking in yards allowed on the ground with only 64 yards per game.

Denver Broncos's Latest Performance :

Despite the Seahawks outscoring the Broncos 14-10 in the second half, the Broncos were able to go into the half up 17-10 to get the week one victory on last Sunday en route to their first win of the season.  Case Keenum would throw three big touchdown passes to Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Thomas, along with Philip Lindsay while the rushing attack was paced by Royce Freeman and Lindsay who would each have 71 yards on the day on 15 carries apiece.  Sanders and Thomas would combine for 198 total receiving yards for the Broncos in the win while Courtland Sutton would have 45 yards on two receptions, also.  Von Miller would have three sacks on the day while recording six tackles for the defense.  Guard Ron Leary will be questionable for Sunday’s game with a knee injury which will affect a running game that ranks 7th in the league.  Nonetheless, the Broncos will be looking to control the trenches to get their running game going versus an Oakland defense that allowed 140 total yards on the ground to the Rams in their opener.  Keenum will have his receiving trio in tact for Sunday’s matchup as they take their 4th ranked pass offense to the field to battle the 14th ranked defense in the NFL that would give up 225 yards per game, yet, are allowing 33 points per game, overall.

How Oakland Raiders & Denver Broncos Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Denver is 0-0-1 ATS while the O/U is 1-0

Oakland is 0-1 ATS while the O/U is 0-1

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting matchup in that there will certainly be opportunities for Oakland to get the running game going in this contest, however, it is yet to be seen who will step up as their running back corps may be depleted due to injury.  On the other hand, the Oakland defense will be looking to shore up their vulnerabilities versus a decent passing attack for the Broncos that have Thomas and Thomas on the outside that will be matched up up against a shaky defensive secondary for Oakland.  In all, expect this to be a competitive matchup versus teams that possess tons of bad blood amongst each other.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Denver Broncos -6

My reason for the pick :

The Broncos will indeed have a great day versus the Oakland defense that really needs to get better at stop both the pass and the run.  Keenum and his playmakers will open the game with their ability to make place down the field while their rushing attack will get some yards on the ground to keep the Raider offense honest.  In all, look for the Broncos to eat some clock in this matchup while coming up with the necessary big plays in which to put this game out of reach early.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 45.5

My reason for the prediction :

This will be a classic under game as I see the Raiders struggling to get any type of run game going due to their running backs being questionable for Sunday’s matchup.  Also, Carr will do all in his power to get a victory for the Raiders, however, this Bronco defensive secondary perform well versus the Seahawks in week one and will certainly neutralize their playmakers at receiver.  Besides, the under has been the mantra in these matchups versus Oakland and Denver so I can certainly see the total not surpassing 45.5 points in this AFC West showdown.

Betting trends for Oakland Raiders:

    • Under is 8-0 in Raiders last 8 games overall
    • Raiders are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game
    • Under is 8-0 in Raiders last 8 games following a straight up loss of more than 14 points.

Betting trends for Denver Broncos:

    • Broncos are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC West
    • Over is 7-0 in Broncos last 7 games in September
    • Broncos are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss
