Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Philadelphia Eagles vs Tennessee Titans

The Philadelphia Eagles will meet the Tennessee Titans in week four NFL action at Nissan Field in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm EST.  The teams last met on November 23, 2014 as the Eagles would outscore the Titans 17-0 in the first quarter while also putting up 16 points in the second half compared to only seven for the road team en route to the 43-24 win.  Philly covered as 11-point home favorites in this game while the over was the play with the total being set at 49 points for the game.  In their last outing, the Eagles picked up the 20-16 home win versus the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday while the Titans also picked up a huge home victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars by getting the 9-6 win.

Philadelphia Eagles 's Latest Performance :

The Eagles would go back and forth with the Colts in week three as they each got on the board with touchdown passes from Andrew Luck as well as Carson Wentz, who would finally return from injury, to tie the game at 7 all; however, Jake Elliot and Adam Vinatari would trade field goals for much of the game before Wendell Smallwood took the lead for good for the home team as he scored on a four yard touchdown run to seal the win for Philly with 3:02 remaining in the game.  The Eagles would rack up 151 rushing yards for the game with Corey Clement and Smallwood combining for 26 rushes for 112 yards and a TD while Wentz would collect 255 passing yards along with a TD and an INT in his first game in 2018.  Zack Ertz (5 rec, 73 yds) and Dallas Goedert (7 rec, 73 yds, TD) paced the receiving corps for an offense that held the ball for 40:20 minutes for the game despite fumbling the ball four times (losing one).  Darren Sproles, Jay Ajayi, and Alshon Jeffrey continue to be day to day with shoulder, back, and hamstring injuries for the offense for the Eagles. The 9th ranked Eagles defense in total yards would obtain five sacks for the day while Andrew Luck would only have 164 yards total with a TD in the loss.

Tennessee Titans 's Latest Performance :

Marcus Mariota threw for only 100 yards in the win versus the Jaguars last Sunday, however, the running game would rack up 150 yards versus a stout Jacksonville defense with Mariota having 51 of those yards as they would obtain their first win of the season in week three.  Derrick Henry also had 57 yards on 18 attempts while Corey Davis led the receiving corps with 34 yards for the game.  The Titans were aided by their defense that recorded three sacks for the game along with recovering a fumble in the contest as well.  The rushing attack has been the saving grace thus far for the Titans as the team is averaging 122 yards per game.  They will certainly be needing this type of production versus the top ranked rush defense in the league in Philadelphia.  Of course, the passing game for the Titans ranked 29th in the league with 162 yards per game will attempt to exploit a pass defense for the Eagles that allow 253 yards per game to their opponents; However, they will possibly be without Rodney McLeod who is day to day with a knee injury for the Eagles while Blaine Gabbert may not be in the lineup for the Titans who suffered a concussion in their last matchup.

How Philadelphia Eagles & Tennessee Titans Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Philadelphia is 1-2 ATS while the O/U is 1-2

Tennessee is 2-1 ATS while the O/U is 1-2

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

While I expect an interesting game between a Colts team and their 10th ranked rushing attack that will be competing against the top ranked run defense in the league, it will also be intriguing to see how the Eagles offense performs in the passing game that currently ranks 20th in the NFL with 222 yards per outing.  Also, the Eagles are averaging a tad less than 20 points per game which should change since Wentz has been reasserted back into the lineup.  Nonetheless, the Titans defense is ranked fourth in points allowed in 2018, so, the Eagles will certainly need to bring their A game in which to get a win in week four.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Philadelphia Eagles -3.5

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Eagles in this matchup as I feel that they were injected with a huge amount of momentum with the return of their signal caller last weekend in the return of Wentz.  As a result, the passing game will be positively affected while the rushing game will also benefit as well.  The Titans are certainly feeling good about themselves after picking up their first win of the season, however, with the Eagles coming to town, the offense will find it difficult to move the ball once again this weekend.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 41.5

My reason for the prediction :

The under will be a strong play in this matchup as you have a team in the Titans that will be going against a stout Phillies defensive front along with a decent secondary.  Mariota and company are known to run the ball in which to set up the pass, however, this will not pan out versus the Eagles who will control the trenches throughout the game while they will perform much better on offense with Wentz working his way back to top form.  In all, the under will be the play in the end.

Betting trends for Tennessee Titans :

    • Tennessee is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games at home
