Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Chicago Bears

The Tampa Bay Bucs will travel to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, to battle the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm EST.  On September 17, 2017, the Bucs picked up the 29-7 home win over Chicago by outscoring the road team 26-0 in the first half while cruising to the victory.  They would also hold the Bears to only 20 yards rushing in the win.  In all, Tampa Bay covered the spread as 7-point home favorites while the under was the play with the total being set at 44 points for the game.  Chicago picked up the 16-14 road win over the Arizona Cardinals in week three as they would not cover the 5.5 point spread as road favorites while the total of 39 points was not surpassed.  The Bucs would fall at home versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night by a 30-27 score as they were not able to cover the one point spread as home favorites while the over was the play with the total being set at 55 points for the game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers's Latest Performance :

The Bucs got 411 passing yards by Ryan Fitzpatrick, however, he threw a huge interception to Bud Dupree that was return for a touchdown that proved to be the game-changer as the home team came back from being down 30-10 at the half, yet, not being able to pull out the win in week three versus the Steelers at home on Monday night.  Fitzpatrick also had two additional interceptions, however, he had three touchdown passes to Mike Evans, Chris Goodwin, along with Cameron Brate in the loss while the rushing attack would rack up only 63 yards total with Peyton Barber leading the attack with 33 yards on 8 carries.  Evans would pace the receiving corps with six catches for 137 yards and a TD for the Bucs.  Fitzpatrick was also sacks three times in the loss.  Tampa’s defense would allow 335 passing yards to the Steelers with only 78 yards on the ground while collecting three sacks in the contest.

Chicago Bears 's Latest Performance :

After going down 14-0 early to Arizona, the Bears outscored the home team 16-0 to end the game on the strength of three Cody Parker field goals along with a one-yard run by Jordan HowardMitch Trubisky ended the game with 220 yards and an interception in the win while the rushing attack would obtain 122 yards on the ground as Howard led the charge with 61 yards on 24 rushes.  Trey Burton and Allen Robinson II would pace the passing attack with a combined 105 yards on seven catches.  And while the Bears offense would allow four sacks while fumbling once, they would dominate in time of possession as they held the ball for 35:21 minutes in the game.  The defense for the Bears would record three sacks in the game while allowing only 53 yards rushing to the Cardinals.  Sam Bradford, after a promising start, was held to 197 yards, two touchdown passes along with two interceptions in the loss.

How Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Chicago Bears Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Chicago is 2-0 ATS while the O/U is 1-1

Tampa Bay is 2-1 ATS while the O/U is 3-0

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Regardless of the outcomes from week three as it relates to the Bears and Bucs, this game will center around the Bucs top ranked offense in yards per game along with their 4th ranked points per game average (34 ppg) versus the Bears defense that is ranked 5th in total yards allowed with 289 per game along with their 8th ranked unit in points allowed with 18.3 per game.  While Fitzpatrick and the Bucs would put up some huge numbers in the passing attack on Monday night, they will certainly need to cut down on the interceptions in this game as the Bears have shown that they have what it takes to dominate in the trenches.  Also, with the Bears pass defense only allowing 223 yards per game to their opponents, this has the makings of being a trap game for the Bucs after a physically and mentally draining loss at home to the Steelers.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Tampa Bay +2.5

My reason for the pick :

Due to the Bucs ability to score along with the Bears ranking near the bottom in yards per game, I will back the Bucs in this matchup to cover the spread.  Of course, with the Bears picking up a win last Sunday versus the Cardinals on the road, one can expect them to really be looking forward to this matchup as to get a sense of where they are as a team at this point in the season.  The home team will play well, however, the Bucs will atone for their lackluster play after a short week as they travel to Chicago as they will indeed cover the spread.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under (off)

My reason for the prediction :

Of course, Tampa will score some points in this game.  Also, expect Trubisky to have some success in the passing game with the Bucs ranking close to the bottom in pass defense.  In all, this game will be a very competitive matchup as both teams will be focused on either extending their current win streak, or, improving upon their overall play in which to make up for missed opportunities during their prior outing.  I will back the under in this contest as the Bears will certainly have much of the momentum due to their play on defense along with a big win in week three.
