Los Angeles Chargers 's Latest Performance :
The Chargers fell behind 14-0 to the Niners last Sunday before Phillip Rivers threw two touchdown passes along with a Caleb Sturgis nailing a field goal in which to tie the score at 17 all at the half. How Oakland Raiders & Los Angeles Chargers Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Oakland is 2-2 ATS while the O/U is 2-2
Los Angeles is 1-3 ATS while the O/U is 4-0
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Oakland is on a high after getting its first win of the season, however, their defense has not been able to stop the run in ranking 30th in the league. Oakland’s defense is also 30th in points allowed in giving up 31 points per outing. The Chargers are also allowing 27 points per game to their opponents and while they may be a bit better in stopping the run, they have struggled in defending the pass as they permit teams to rack up a total of 278 yards per game as it relates to their passing attack(s). In all, both offenses are potent and with Carr and Rivers hanging touch within the pocket, this game will indeed be a high scoring affair on Sunday.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Los Angeles Chargers -5.5
My reason for the pick :
While both teams will put numerous scores on the board in this matchup, I will back the Chargers with the points in this game as I believe that Carr has loads of potential, however, as stated by his coach earlier in the season, tries a bit too hard at times and ends up hurting his team. With that being the case, look for the Chargers defense to step up the pressure a bit in this matchup to attempt to force some turnovers early and often versus Oakland.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over 53.5
My reason for the prediction :
With both teams scoring points along with giving away too many points to their opponents, look for the total to surpass its set mark as Rivers will certainly utilize his playmakers on offense while Cooper and Cook will also have opportunities to make some plays versus a shaky Charger defense. Also, Gordon and Lynch have been running great for their respective offenses lately and despite Okung not being in the lineup for the Chargers, expect a high-scoring back and forth contest in this contest on Sunday.
