Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers

The San Francisco 49’ers will wrap up the week six slate with a visit to historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to take on a hard to figure out Packers squad on Monday night at 8:15 pm EST.  The Packers wasted a three-touchdown day by Aaron Rodgers as they fell by a 31-23 score on the road to the Detroit Lions last Sunday.  The Niners would also fall at home by a 28-18 score to the Arizona Cardinals as sacks and turnovers proved to be their undoing en route to losing their third straight game.  these two teams last met on October 4, 2015 as the Packers picked up the 17-3 road win while covering as 7.5 favorites while the under was the play with the total being set at 48 points for the game.  the Niners are 1-4-1 ATS at Lambeau in their last six games while being 3-7-1 AS in their last eleven games versus Green Bay.  Furthermore, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings amongst these teams.

San Francisco 49ers's Latest Performance :

San Francisco tuned things on too late in their last outing as the Arizona Cardinals scored off a Josh Rosen touchdown pass along with a David Johnson rushing touchdown combined with a Josh Byrnes fumble recovery for a 23 yard touchdown to seal the win.  Johnson ended the game with 55 yards and two scores for the cardinals while Josh Rosen had 170 yards and a passing touchdown to Christian Kirk, who led the receiving corps with three catches for 85 yards total.  And while the Cardinals went two for two inside the red zone, the Niners were also perfect in this area as well (3-3) while they racked up 147 yards on the ground for the day with Alfred Morris and Matt Breida combining for 26 rushes for 117 yards for the game.  George Kittle led the receiving corps with 83 yards on five catches for the Niners as Beathard racked up 300 yards passing along with two touchdowns and two picks in the loss.

Green Bay Packers's Latest Performance :

The Green Bay Packers are yet another team that has struggled to gain footing this season as they continue to take on step forward while taking a step back on a weekly basis. In their last outing versus Detroit, Aaron Rodgers did all he could possibly do in which to preserve a win for the Pack in throwing for 442 yards along with three touchdowns; However, despite going three for four inside the red zone and having 98 yards on the ground with Aaron Jones have 40 yards on seven carries, the Packers allowed four sacks along with three fumbles in the contest along with 112 yards worth of penalties.  The defense allowed only 264 total yards to the Lions with Matthew Stafford throwing for 183 yards along with two score in the win while only allowing 94 yards on the ground.  And despite only giving up 18 first downs for the game and allowing the Lions to hold the ball for only 26 minutes, the Packer defense allowed them to go four for four inside the red zone for the day.  Green Bay has a long list of injuries with Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb being two of them as they area questionable with hamstring and concussion injuries.  Rodgers was also hampered by a knee injury yet is probable for this matchup on Monday night.

How San Francisco 49ers & Green Bay Packers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

San Francisco is 1-4 ATS while the OU is 4-1

Green Bay is 2-3 ATS while the OU is 4-1

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

While both teams could certainly use a win on Monday, the Packers certainly need a victory to get back into the win column to ensure that they do not fall too far behind the Bears who are currently in first place within the NFC North division.  Besides, the Minnesota Wikings are close behind and will certainly be cheering for the Niners to win this matchup.  In all, look for this game to be a battle in the trenches as both offenses having struggled to score lately and taking control of the line of scrimmage will be a great indication as to who the winning team will be.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Green Bay Packers -9.5

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Packers in this matchup as I feel as if they will come in with more fire and focus than the Niners who are essentially playing for nothing since Garoppolo became injured a couple weeks ago.  In all, look for them to cover the huge spread over a Niners team that can indeed be solid on defense, but, are also susceptible to giving up big plays within the defensive secondary, which is something that Rodgers and company will feast on.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 46.5

My reason for the prediction :

I happen to feel that this matchup will result in the under as both teams are struggling on offense, as stated, while both defenses are well equipped to counter what each offense may do in which to put scores on the board.  In other words, the Packers are stout on the defensive front as well as within the defensive secondary which counters what they Niners do best in running, first and foremost, as well as passing.  On the other hand, Green Bay’s passing attack is the tip of the spear for their offense while the running game struggles.  For this, the Niners possess the 15th ranked pass defense in the league while their rush defense is ranked 7th overall.  Again, I will back the under in this contest as the Pack will only score just enough to pull out win while covering the spread.
