Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Tennessee Titans vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Tennessee Titans will be on the road in week seven of their NFL Schedule to battle the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday for a 9:30 am EST game that will be staged at Wembley Stadium in Wembley, London, England.  The Chargers are coming off a 38-14 road win versus the Cleveland Browns in week six as the Chargers running game was the tip of the spear in the team winning their third straight game in racking up 246 yards for the contest.  On the other hand, the Titans were shut out at home versus the Baltimore Ravens as they lost their second straight game in obtaining only 106 total yards on the game while holding the ball for only 22 minutes for the contest in a 21-0 home loss.  The last time these two teams met was on November 6, 2016 in a high-scoring affair to where the Chargers came away with the 43-35 home win as Melvin Gordon ran all over the Titans defense in racking up 196 yards and a score in the victory.

Tennessee Titans's Latest Performance :

The Titans were terrible on offense last weekend versus the Ravens as they only put in 55 yards on the ground while passing for only 51 yards with Marcus Mariota passing for 117 yards for the game, however, with 11 sacks on the day for the visitors, this would seal the deal for a Ravens win.  Joe Flacco passed for 238 yards, a TD, along with an interception in the game while the Ravens collected 123 rushing yards with Alex Collins having 54 yards along with two TD’s while Michael Crabtree led the receiving corps with 93 yards and a TD catch in the victory.  Mariota also led the rushing attack for the Titans with only 25 yards for the game as they would not reach the red zone in the contest.  The Titans are only averaging 11 points per game in their last four games and to make matters worse, Quinton Spain is day to day with a shoulder injury for that offensive line for the Titans while linebackers Will Compton and Wesley Woodyard are day to day with hamstring and shoulder injuries and uncertain to play versus the Chargers.

Los Angeles Chargers's Latest Performance :

The Chargers went into the half leading by a 21-6 score and never looked back as their defense allowed the Browns only 106 rushing yards while Baker Mayfield threw for 238 yards, a TD, along with two picks in the matchup.  The Charger defense allowed only 18 first downs while collecting five sacks for the game, yet allowed 175 return yards.  On the other hand, the Chargers had 116 return yards while Melvin Gordon II rushed for 132 yards on 18 carries along with three touchdowns in the huge win for the Chargers.  Also, Phillip Rivers had two touchdown passes to go with 207 passing yards while his main target was Tyrell Williams who had 118 yards receiving with two touchdown catches.  In all, the Chargers dominated this game in every way as their 5th ranked offense in points scored ran all over a Browns defense that could find no answers within the trenches.  Look for them to also exploit a Tennessee squad that is also struggling on both sides of the ball, particularly in stopping the run (ranked 26th in the league in allowing 123 yards per game).

How Tennessee Titans & Los Angeles Chargers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Tennessee is 3-3 ATS while the OU is 2-4

Los Angeles is 3-3 ATS while the OU is 5-1

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Chargers are on a roll at this point in the season while the Titans continue to struggle on offense, thus taking a toll on the defensive unit.  A trip to England could possibly allow both teams a chance to enjoy life across the pond for a bit, however, one can certainly look for the Chargers to continue to roll in this matchup.  Of course, the Titans can possibly take advantage of a Chargers defensive secondary that allows 261 yards in the air to their opponents this year; However, with Mariota and the Titans putting up only 164 yards per game in their passing attack, this may be difficult as well.  Furthermore, with offensive line injuries potentially being an issue for their upcoming matchup, the Titans may indeed struggle in week seven.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Los Angeles Chargers -6.5

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Chargers to pull out the win in this contest while covering the spread late in the game versus the Titans on Sunday.  Again, the defense for the Titans only allow 17 points per game and will certainly provide a challenge for a Chargers team that has averaged a tad over 30 points per game in their last four outings.  With that being said, look for Rivers and Gordon to exploit the run defense for the Titans that ranks within the bottom echelon of the league while using their success to open up opportunities for the passing game.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 45

My reason for the prediction :

Again, look for the Chargers to give the Titans a heavy dose of their running game which is averaging 137 yards on the ground per game on their opponents.  Of course, with Los Angeles taking control of the trenches, this will allow Rivers and Keenan Allen to strike up the passing attack that ranks 13th in the league.  Tennessee will have a slight chance to cover in this matchup, however, the offense has been atrocious lately which will cause the defense to spend too many plays on the field defending an offense that is averaging well over 400 yards per game.
