How Baltimore Ravens & Carolina Panthers Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Baltimore is 4-3 ATS while the OU is 2-5
Carolina is 3-3 ATS while the OU is 3-3
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This will certainly be a litmus test for both teams as the Panthers will look to prove that they can continue to find ways to win ball games as they did in the prior week while the Ravens are simply just looking for a win at this point in the season after hitting a rough patch. Of course, they will not find it easy to contain Newton as he continues to make plays with his arms and legs; Nonetheless, with the Ravens defense continuing to rank in the top ten in each major defensive category this year, expect them to bring the pressure throughout the contest. As stated, Carolina has the fourth ranked rushing game in the league yet is ranked in the bottom tier in total yards per game along with points scored. With that begin said, look for a low scoring yet competitive matchup amongst these squads on Sunday as they each have much incentive to win.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Carolina Panthers +2
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Panthers in this matchup as they will be coming in with tons of momentum after their come from behind victory on the road versus the Eagles last Sunday. Also, with wins such as this, the focus will certainly be there in the following game as one will not want to allow a repeat performance. In all, the Panthers will keep this game tight while the defense for the Ravens will play well to atone for their lackluster play in their prior outing; Nonetheless, Newton and company will continue to fight, thus covering the spread when it is all said and done.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 43
My reason for the prediction :
The under has been the play in both past two contests for the Panthers while being the result for the Ravens in their last five outings. With that being the case, along with the Ravens looking to right the ship versus a dangerous Carolina team, I will back the under in this instance as the focus will certainly be there for the road team while Carolina’s defense is no slouch either in ranking in the top ten in points and rush yards allowed per game. In all, expect this game to be a battle in the trenches throughout as the total will not surpass 43 points.
