Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Paul brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, to battle the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at 1 pm EST. The last time these two teams met was on November 30, 2014 when the Bengals picked up the slim 14-13 road win, yet the Bucs covered as six-point favorites. In their last outing, the Bucs halted a three-game losing streak by picking up a 26-23 home win over the Cleveland Browns while the Bengals lost their second straight game as they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs on the road by a 45-10 score as the Bengal’s offense racked up only 239 yards for the game while the Chiefs collected over 500 yards of offense. The Bucs are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings with the Bengals.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers's Latest Performance :
The Bucs had struggled lately as well prior to their matchup with the Browns last Sunday as they lost three straight while going 0-3 ATS during this time. Nonetheless, they picked up a huge home 26-23 win over the Browns in their last outing in which to stop the bleeding in overtime thanks to a Chandler Catanzaro 59-yard field goal to seal the victory with 1:50 minutes remaining in the game. Jameis Winston threw for 365 yards, however, would throw two interceptions in a game where the Bucs allowed four sacks to the Browns defense. The rushing attack was led by Winston with 55 yards and a score while Mike Evans led the receiving corps with 107 yards on seven catches for the Bucs. The Bucs defense collected five sacks for the game as well yet allowed 101 return yards which kept the game close. Nonetheless, the Browns racked up 118 yards in penalties for the game, which certainly did not help their cause.
Cincinnati Bengals's Latest Performance :
The Bengals were riding high at 4-1 only a couple weeks ago while averaging 38 points per game. Fast forward to the present, they are struggling in losing their last two games while its offense is only putting out only 15 points per game while the defense is allowing 37 points to their opponents per outing. Furthermore, the Bengals are also 0-2 ATS during this time. In their last outing versus the Chiefs, the defense allowed Pat Mahomes and company to rack up 551 yards for the game as Mahomes threw for four touchdowns in the contest. The Bengals were pounded on the ground to the tune of 198 yards as Kareem Hunt rushed for 86 yards and a score. The Bengals offense was stagnant in putting up only 239 total yards with Andy Dalton throwing for 148 yards, a TD, along with an interception while the rushing attack only had 65 yards with Joe Mixon have 50 of those on 13 carries. AJ Green shined for the Bengals in the loss with 117 yards on seen catches in the loss. The Bengals and Ravens are tied within the AFC North while the Steelers have taken command of the top spot.
How Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Cincinnati Bengals Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Tampa Bay is 2-4 ATS while the OU is 5-1
Cincinnati is 4-3 ATS while the OU is 4-3
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Bucs come into this game with a bit of confidence as they finally halted a recent losing streak while the Bengals continue to struggle as they have found it difficult to match up versus similar teams with dangerous offenses recently. And while the Bucs rushing attack is ranked 29th in the league in averaging 86 yards per game, the team is ranked in the top 10 in total yards per game, total passing yards, along with total points per game for the year. The Bengals have been terrible all year in preventing both the pass and the rush. Combine this with the fact that they are allowing 29 points to their opponents per game, the Bucs may indeed have an edge in this matchup.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +4.5
My reason for the pick :
While the Bucs have not played well on the road this year by losing two of their last three games overall, two of those games were by a touchdown or less. With that being the case, look for the Bucs to have success versus a shaky Bengals defense that has been torched the past few weeks. Winston will be opportunistic as the Bucs would certainly love to keep their winning streak going versus a team that is allowing teams to score practically at will lately. In all, look for the Bucs to keep this game tight with a productive offensive showing while covering the spread in the meantime.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over 54.5
My reason for the prediction :
The over has been the play in each of the road games for the Bucs this season. Also, with Tampa Bay coming into the game with much more momentum after ending a losing streak in their last outing, look for them to score early and often to make this game interesting. Of course, the Bengals continue to be a dangerous team on the offensive end with Dalton and Green healthy and will certainly not fall behind by much throughout the game. With that being the case, look for the total to surpass its set mark for this game as both teams are offensive juggernauts with inconsistent defenses.
