Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Arizona Cardinals vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Arizona Cardinals will travel to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to face the tough, offensive minded Chiefs team on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm EST.  The cardinals are coming off a bye week after picking up a much-needed victory over the San Francisco 49’ers in their last outing by an 18-15 score as Josh Rosen picked up some confidence in throwing for 252 yards along with two TD’s.  Of course, his last touchdown pass of the night was the game winner to Christian Kirk to seal the victory and comeback for Arizona.

The Chiefs continue to roll as they manhandled the Cleveland Browns at home by a 37-21 score as Mahomes put in another three touchdown passes while Kareem Hunt ran for another two as the Chiefs have won three straight games, overall.  The home team is 5-0 ATS in the last five games amongst these teams.

Arizona Cardinals 's Latest Performance :

Arizona is coming off a bye, as stated, and will certainly look to build from the momentum in beating the San Francisco 49’ers in their last time out as they rallied from an 18-5 deficit late in the third quarter to get the victory behind Josh Rosen who threw two touchdown passes late in the game to seal the victory for Arizona, only their second victory in six games.  As Stated, Rosen led the group in this matchup with 252 yards, two TD’s along with a pick while Larry Fitzgerald certainly made his presence felt in racking up 102 yards receiving along with a score.  David Johnson led the rushing attack with 59 yards on 18 carries as the Cardinals continue to have the worst rushing attack in the league in averaging just 68 yards per contest.

The Defense or the Cardinals have been much better in defending the pass as opposed to the run.  They are ranked 7th in pass defense while allowing 143 yards on the ground to their opponents per week.  Nonetheless, they held the Niners to only 107 rushing yards in their last matchup and will certainly look to neutralize a KC rushing attack that directly feeds off its passing attack.

Kansas City Chiefs's Latest Performance :

The loss to the Patriots seemed to be a momentum booster for Kansas City earlier in the season as they have certainly rebounded nicely in winning three straight games while their offense has continued to flourish in averaging 37 points during this time.  Patrick Mahomes continues to shine this season in throwing for at least 300 yards in eight straight games while having a TD/INT ratio of 25-7.  He collected 375 yards along with three TD’s and a pick in his last outing versus the Cleveland Browns at First Energy Field.  On the other hand, running back Kareem Hunt (91 yards, two TD’s) shined as well for a rushing attack that racked up 139 total yards on the ground for the game.  Travis Kelce led the receivers with 99 yards along with two TD passes from Mahomes as the Chiefs continue to ride high.

The defense for KC collected two sacks in the game, yet, Baker Mayfield threw for 297 yards along with two touchdown passes and a pick in the matchup while the rushing attack was led by Nick Chubb who gained 85 yards on 22 carries for the game along with two touchdowns to keep the Browns in the game.  Nonetheless, look for their defense to sharpen themselves for a match versus a team in the Cardinals, who have struggled mightily all year long on the offensive end.

How Arizona Cardinals & Kansas City Chiefs Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Arizona is 4-3-1 ATS while the OU is 3-5

Kansas City is 8-1 ATS while the OU is 5-3

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Cardinals will certainly be well rested when they match up versus the Chiefs on Sunday.  And while their offense is ranked at or near the bottom in every major category, they will certainly need to find some ways in which to score to keep the game competitive.  In other words, Rosen must continue to step up in which to find Fitzgerald and Kirk on the outside.  They will also need to get the rushing attack started with Johnson as the Chiefs are ranked 25th in stopping the run this year and will indeed give up a few on the ground.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Kansas City Chiefs -16.5

My reason for the pick :

Though the Chiefs may give up points to their opponents, I see them having a much more productive day in defending Rosen and company at home.  With that, I will take the home team with the points in this matchup as I see no way in which the Cardinals, who have had issues with scoring all year, can compete over four quarters with such a highly efficient offense as the Chiefs.  In all, look for the home team to jump out early and often on the Cardinals as they will cover on Sunday.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Over 50

My reason for the prediction :

I will also back the over in this contest as I see the Cardinals laying yet another egg versus a Chief’s team that can score almost at will.  And while the Cardinals have the 7th ranked pass defense in the league, look for theme to be competitive for a bit early on; However, the Chiefs will indeed take control of this game as they continue to do what they do best on the offensive end.  With that being said, take the over as the strong play in this matchup.
