Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams will return to LA Memorial Coliseum for a 2nd consecutive home game as they will welcome in the Kansas City Chiefs in a cross-conference clash, the opening kickoff is slated for 8:15 PM. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams will be putting their 9-1 record on the line in what should be a fun matchup.
Kansas City Chiefs's Latest Performance :
The Chiefs have shown no signs of slowing down after their tough road loss against the New England Patriots as they have put together a nice 3 game win streak since that point. Andy Reid decided to turn to 2nd year QB Patrick Mahomes and it has looked like the right choice as he has thrown for 3150 yards, 31 TDs, and only 7 interceptions through the first 10 weeks. In the Chiefs latest game against the Cardinals, Mahomes was able to throw for 249 yards and 2 TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Both of Mahomes TD passes were able to find the speedy WR Tyreek Hill who had yet another good game as he caught 7 passes for 117 yards and 2 TDs. Hill has easily been one of Mahomes favorite targets this season as the 24-year-old has racked up 55 catches for 891 yards and 9 TDs. The Cardinals made sure they had TE Travis Kelce on lock as he was only able to bring down 6 balls for 46 yards which is a good outing for the Cardinals considering he has over 787 yards and 6 TDs on the season. The run game for the Chiefs was unable to get going as we have seen it this year as Kareem Hunt was held in check with only 71 yards on 16 carries. Hunt has been a nice supplement to the air raid this season as he has contributed 754 yards and 7 TDs. The defense for the Chiefs has been hit or miss all season but they didn’t play bad against the Cardinals as they were able to record 5 sacks and 2 interceptions. DE Dee Ford contributed 6 tackles and a sack which extends his season total to a team-high 9th sack while CB Steven Nelson came down with his 3rd interception of the season.
Los Angeles Rams's Latest Performance :
The Los Angeles Rams have rebounded off their loss to the New Orleans Saints nicely as they were able to secure a 36-31 victory at home over divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams have one of the strongest offensive units in the league and that is led by QB Jared Goff who has played himself into MVP talks. The 24-year-old is coming off a big game against the Seahawks as he was able to throw for 318 yards and 2 TDs to extend his season total to 3134 yards, 22 TDs, and 6 interceptions. 1st-year Ram Brandin Cooks had yet another big game for the Rams as he was able to rack up 100 yards on 10 catches which gives him a team-high 857 yards on the season. Following Cooks on the stat sheet is WR Robert Woods who also has 800+ yards after an 89-yard performance against the Seahawks. Cooks and Woods will need to take another step forward after the Rams lost Cooper Kupp to a torn ACL against the Seahawks. When opposing teams decide to shut down the air attack of the Rams they have the ability to destroy you on the ground with RB Todd Gurley. Gurley was able to rush for 120 yards and 1 TD on 16 carries against the Seahawks which puts the back just shy of 1000 yards on the season (988, 13 TDs). The defense for the Rams isn’t too shabby either as they have a dangerous pass rush and they showed that last week as the combination of Aaron Donald, Dante Fowler, and Ndamukong Suh racked up 4 sacks. DT Ndamukong Suh also contributed a team-high 9 tackles for Los Angeles.

My reason for the pick :
A week ago I would have been all over the Rams but the injury to Cooper Kupp has me liking this line more and more in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs and Rams have been neck and neck all season for one of the best offensive units but with Cooper Kupp going out with an injury I think Kansas City can focus more on Woods and Cooks as there hasn’t been any WRs that pop out for me to replace Kupp. The one area that Kansas City has been strong at on the defensive side of the ball is rushing the QB and if they can get in the backfield to Goff there is no reason they can’t come away with a win. Kansas City is also undefeated ATS on the road while Los Angeles hasn’t been too great at home. Take the free FG with Kansas City as they have a shot to win this outright.
