Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings return home to U.S. Bank Stadium where they will host the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North clash, the opening kickoff is slated for 8:20 PM. The Vikings and Packers are both coming off hard-fought losses on the road and sit in the middle of the division but the winner of this matchup is in good shape to jump out ahead in the wild-card race.
Green Bay Packers's Latest Performance :
The Green Bay Packers have arguably one of the best QBs in the league but as we saw in their previous game he isn’t enough to continue winning as they have fallen to 3rd place in the division. The Packers dropped a road match against the Seahawks 27-24 which was caused by a late-game rally from Seattle. The Packers star QB Aaron Rodgers had yet another great outing as he threw for 332 yards and 2 TDs which gives him 3073 yards, 19 TDs, and remarkably only 1 interception through the first 11 weeks. The Packers offense has looked much better the last few weeks with the emergence of a run game specifically from Aaron Jones. RB Aaron Jones gained 40 yards and a TD on 11 carries but his work was felt more through the air where he gained 63 yards and a TD on 5 catches. Aaron Jones has gained 534 yards and 5 TDs on the season but most of his production has come over the last few weeks. The Packers top WR Davante Adams had a big game for Aaron Rodgers and company as he gained 166 yards on 10 catches which puts him just shy of 1000-yards on the season as he has racked up 953 yards and 9 TDs. The Packers 3rd-string TE Robert Tonyan Jr. had a big catch for Aaron Rodgers as he brought down a 54-yard TD catch. The defense has been hit or miss all season long but they keep adding on to their injury list which has put a damper on the unit. DB Tramon Williams and Josh Jones had 7 tackles apiece while DE Kyle Frackrell had a career game with 3 sacks.
Minnesota Vikings's Latest Performance :
The Vikings came into this season as one of the favorites to win the NFC North but as we have seen over the last few weeks this team is vulnerable especially when their offense isn’t working on all cylinders. The Vikings dropped their recent road game against the Chicago Bears as star QB Kirk Cousins didn’t have his best game. John DeFilippo put the ball in Cousins hands and wanted to win the game through him as he threw 46 passes which he completed 30 of them for 262 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 interceptions, one of which was returned for a TD. Cousins has been a difference for the Vikings especially when he is on his game as he has thrown for 2947 yards, 19 TDs, and 7 interceptions. The Vikings were unable to get much going on the ground as 2nd-year back Dalvin Cook rushed for 12 yards on 9 carries and Latavius Murray only gained 5 yards on 4 carries. The Vikings have a two-headed monster at WR with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen which has proved to be a problem for opposing defenses. Stefon Diggs had the biggest game out of any Vikings playmaker as he gained 126 yards and a TD on 13 catches while Thielen had 66 yards on 7 catches. Thielen cracked the 1000-yard mark on the season with his performance against the Bears as he now sits at 1013 yards and 7 TDs. The defense has been banged up all season long which has been a reason they have underperformed early on. LB Eric Kendricks had a team-high 12 tackles while safety Anthony Harris brought down 2 interceptions.

Against The Spread Selection: Minnesota Vikings -3.5
My reason for the pick :
As we have seen throughout this season Aaron Rodgers has been superhuman but they have been unable to win games due to the uncertainty of their defense. The Vikings have lost some tough games over the last few weeks but that includes games against New Orleans and Chicago two of the tougher teams in the conference. Kirk Cousins has been a big difference maker for the Vikings this season and I don’t think the Packers have enough playmakers at DB to cover Diggs and Thielen. The Vikings will try to establish the run game in this matchup as it went blank last weekend and I think Cook has a big game in return. Take the Vikings to win a big divisional game at home.
