Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Los Angeles Rams vs Chicago Bears
The Los Angeles Rams will travel to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, to battle the Chicago Bears on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Both teams have had stellar seasons as the Los Angeles Rams continue to pick up wins as they won their second straight matchup in picking up the 30 – 16 road win over the Detroit Lions in the last contest as Todd Gurley was the man of the day in rushing for 132 yards along with two touchdowns for a rushing attack that racked up 149 yards for the game.
The Chicago Bears, on the other hand, fell to the New York Giants in their last outing on the road as the lowly Giants were able to take the Bears into overtime where the home team sealed the victory by an Aldrick Rojas 44 yard field goal as the Giants picked up the much-needed win. Also, New York sent the Bears to their first loss in five games. The Rams have covered the spread in two of the last eight meetings with Chicago.
Los Angeles Rams's Latest Performance :
Los Angeles not only won their third straight game with a blowout win versus the Detroit Lions in the last outing as they scored at least 30 or more points in their last four games, overall, as Todd Gurley and the rushing attack took center stage as he rushed for 132 yards along with two touchdowns in the much-needed win for Los Angeles while Jared Goff threw for 207 yards, one touchdown, along with a pick in the contest as he targeted Robert Woods nine times for the game as he finish with five catches for 67 yards along with a TD in the win for the Rams.
On the defensive end, the Rams allow edthe Detroit Lions 102 yards rushing as LeGarrette Blount had 61 yards on 16 carries while Matthew Stafford threw for 245 yd, a TD, along with a pick in the defeat. Stafford was also sacked four times by the Rams defense while the visitors allowed the home team to convert only one of five attempts inside the red zone for the night. In all, the win for the Rams over the Lions was a total team effort as they will certainly like to continue this streak versus a Chicago team that may indeed struggle due to the absence of their starting quarterback in Trubisky.
Chicago Bears's Latest Performance :
After their 30-27 lost to the Giants on the road last weekend, the Chicago Bears will certainly be looking to get back on the right track, albeit versus a solid Los Angeles Rams team that has now won three straight after a win over the Detroit Lions in their last outing. Nonetheless, the Bears may, once again, be without their quarterback in Mitch Trubisky for this matchup, which means that Chase Daniel will be under center yet again for the home team as he was sacked a total of 5 times against the Giants in their last outing while passing for 285 yards total with a touchdown pass along with two interceptions.
He certainly targeted Tyrik Cohen the most in this matchup as he caught 12 passes for 156 yards for the game. On the other hand, the rushing attack put up 118 yards on the night with Jordan Howard having 16 rushes for 76 yards, overall, in defeat. On the defensive side of the ball, the stout Bears defense allowed Saquon Barkley to rush for 125 yards for the game while Eli Manning threw for only 170 yards for the game, one touchdown, along with a pick. In all, the Bears will certainly need to get more going for themselves on the offensive end in which to remain competitive versus the Rams in this contest.
And while the Rams have been productive on both sides of the ball this season, their last four road games entailed them losing at New Orleans along with two of their wins coming by three points or less. In other words, the Rams have certainly been a bit lackluster on the road lately. With that being the case, the Bears are winners of their last three home games, overall, and will look to get back on the winning track with a much-needed and huge win over the NFC West leading Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.
How Los Angeles Rams & Chicago Bears Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Los Angeles is 5 – 6 – 1 ATS while the OU is 6 – 6
Chicago is 8 – 4 ATS while the OU is 8 – 4
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This matchup will certainly be important for Chicago in that they will certainly need to get back onto the winning track after a slim defeat versus the Giants on the road in last weekend’s contest. On the other hand, the Rams will certainly want to keep their momentum going after they have won three straight games after dropping a contest versus the New Orleans Saints a few weeks ago. In all, look for the Rams to look to pressure the Bears from start to finish in this matchup as they will certainly attempt to test the resolve of Chase Daniel under center. On the other hand, look for the visitors to also utilize their potent rushing and passing attack in which to put some scores on the board early while allowing the defense to neutralize a Chicago offense that, as stated, will likely struggle due to the absence of Trubisky.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Los Angeles Rams - 3.5
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Rams in this matchup as they will continue to grind on offense, despite facing off versus a solid Chicago defense while also picking up the much-needed victory in the end while covering the small spread on Sunday night. As stated, with Trubisky out of the lineup, the Bears will likely struggle not only in the passing game, but in the running game as well. With that being the case, look for the Rams to pressure the Chicago Bears, particularly in the running game, in which to allow Daniels to somehow beat them with his arm. On the other hand, Goff and Company will continue to do what they do best which is put points on the board in a number of ways while relying on their defense in which to neutralize opposing offenses throughout the course of the game. Expect this to be the case in this matchup on Sunday night with the Rams covering the spread and cruising to victory.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 52.5
My reason for the prediction :
I will back the under in this matchup simply due to the fact that the Bears defense continues to play as good as they possibly can with an up-and-down offense to play alongside of. On the other hand, look for the Rams to certainly neutralize Chase Daniel and a Bears offense that puts up 28 points per game, yet, is ranked 20th in the league in total yards per game with 351 per outing. In all, look for the under to be the strong play as I see this as being a physical matchup amongst two teams that will be looking to establish themselves within the trenches, first and foremost, in which to establish their running games early.
