Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The New Orleans Saints will travel to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This will be a rematch of a week one show down to where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked up the 48-40 road win over the Saints. Of course, this was before the Saints would go on to win their next 10 games before losing on the road by a 13-10 score to the Dallas Cowboys. In this outing, The Saints were held scoreless in the first half before putting up 10 points in the third quarter in which two get within three points of the home team. Nonetheless, the Saints fumbled the ball twice while getting an interception from Drew Brees in the contest, thus sealing their fate in the end.
On the other hand, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to win their second straight game as they were 24-17 home winners over there struggling Carolina Panthers in their last outing as Jameis Winston threw for 246 yards along with to TD passes in the win while also picking off Cam Newton four times in the contest. The under has been the play in eight of the last 10 games amongst these teams in Tampa Bay while the Saints have not fared well against the spread at Raymond James Stadium as they are only 1-4 in their last five games.
New Orleans Saints's Latest Performance :
New Orleans came within three points of the Dallas Cowboys in their last outing after a Drew Brees touchdown to Keith Kirkwood for 30 yards. However, the Saints were not able to obtain any more chances at a field goal, or, for a TD as the Dallas Cowboys were able to run out the clock while picking up some pivotal plays in the final period in which to keep the chains moving. On the other hand, the Dallas defense was aggressive all night as they sacked Brees seven times while allowing the passing game to rack up only 111 yards on the night.
In all, Brees had his lowest output of the season in throwing for 127 yards, a TD, along with an interception while Alvin Kamara led the team in rushing with 36 yards on 11 attempts. Michael Thomas had 40 yards on five catches to lead the receiving corps on a night where Dallas pressured New Orleans throughout while throwing off their offensive timing, in the meantime.
While the Saints are up comfortably in the NFC South in being four games ahead of the Carolina Panthers, they will certainly need to come out with a win in this matchup as they will face the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium next week, which will certainly decide the division, overall.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers's Latest Performance :
The Tampa Bay Bucs have won two in a row, as stated, and will certainly look to continue this momentum versus a Saints team that may indeed be reeling after their last three point lost to the Dallas Cowboys on the road. Jameis Winston, since being reinserted back into the lineup after a benching, has had a touchdown/interception ratio of 6 – 1 in his last three starts while he has thrown for at least 200 yards in each of those contests. Winston also led the team in rushing versus the Panthers as he racked up 48 yards on five attempts on the day. Finally, Chris Goodwin led the receiving corps with 102 receiving yards and a touchdown catch, which put the Buccaneers up by a 17-7 score late in the second period.
The defense for the Buccaneers allowed Cam Newton to pass for a 300 yards in the game along with two touchdown passes; However, the defense also picked off Newton four times in the matchup. And while the shaky run defense for the Bucs allowed the Panthers to put up 168 yards on the day on the ground, they only allowed the road team to convert two of five of their red zone attempts for the night. It would also be important to mention that Winston was sacked four times while the Tampa Bay defense while Cam Newton was bought to his knees four times as well. In all, the Bucs will look to win their third straight versus a New Orleans team that was outplayed late in their last outing versus the Cowboys as they had no answers for Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas rushing attack.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This will certainly be a interesting matchup between these two teams as the Saints will not only be looking to atone for a loss in their last outing versus the Cowboys, but, they will also be looking to avenge an early-season loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in week 1. On the other hand, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have much at stake in winning this matchup as well as they will be looking to win their third straight game as Jameis Winston will also be looking to continue his stellar streak of play since being reinserted back into the lineup.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: New Orleans Saints - 8
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Saints in this matchup as I happen to feel they have much more incentive to come out to play well in this matchup versus the Bucs on Sunday. And while Tampa Bay has played well in their last two outings, expect the Saints to really hunker down on the defensive end while also reclaiming the timing on an offensive attack that still ranks as one of the best in the league. With that being the case, look for the road team to show and prove in this matchup as their offense will return to form on a very giving Tampa Bay defense, overall.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over 56
My reason for the prediction :
The over was not only been the play in the last meeting amongst these two teams, but has also been the play in three of the last five games for the Saints in addition to being the result in seven of the last 11 games, overall, for the Buccaneers. With that being the case, look for Brees to return to form, as stated, while Winston will also put some touchdowns on the board for his team in what will be an offensive-minded, back-and-forth game throughout.
