Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys return home to AT&T Stadium for their 3rd consecutive home game as they will welcome in the Philadelphia Eagles in an NFC East clash, the opening kickoff is slated for 4:25 PM. The Cowboys currently hold 1st place in the division but an Eagles win in this game will spring the Eagles into 1st.
Philadelphia Eagles's Latest Performance :
The Philadelphia Eagles have not looked like the world champions we thought they would coming into 2018 but they may have saved their season on Monday night as they beat division rivals in the Washington Redskins 28-13. QB Carson Wentz looked better in this outing as the 26-year-old threw for 306 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception which gives him 2846 yards, 18 TDs, and 7 interceptions on the season, all numbers below his 2017 campaign. The Eagles have developed a ground attack despite the loss of Jay Ajayi as undrafted rookie Josh Adams has looked good ever since receiving the starting nod a few weeks back. Adams was able to rush for 85 yards on 20 carries while veteran RB Darren Sproles added a rushing TD in his 2nd game of the season. The Eagles have yet to have a RB touch the 500-yard mark on the season but with the current pace that Adams is at he should hit it as he has posted 376 yards and 2 TDs in only 3 starts. The Eagles made a big addition a few weeks back when they added WR Golden Tate and that move looks like it is finally paying off as he caught 7 passes for 85 yards and a TD against the Redskins. TE Zach Ertz had yet another big game for Philly as he caught 9 passes for 83 yards which puts him at 973 yards on the season. The Eagles defense has been depleted by injuries and despite them giving up a 90-yard TD early in the game they held up in the 2nd half. DB Rasul Douglas led the way with 7 tackles while LB Nathan Gerry intercepted Mark Sanchez.
Dallas Cowboys's Latest Performance :
The Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of a 4 game win streak but they are coming off their most impressive win as they beat arguably the best team in the NFL in the New Orleans Saints last Thursday 13-10. The Cowboys have looked like a new team ever since they added WR Amari Cooper and it looks as that addition gave more confidence to QB Dak Prescott. Prescott looked like a disaster during the early part of the season but the 25-year-old showed us his potential last week by completing 24 of his 28 passes for a total of 248 yards and a TD. Prescott enters the final part of the season with 2675 yards, 14 TDs, and 5 interceptions but one of the most valuable assets he has is his legs as he has rushed for 301 yards and 5 TDs. RB Ezekiel Elliot was unable to find much running room against the top rush defense as he only gained 76 yards on 23 carries but he was able to cause some havoc through the air as he caught 6 passes for 60 yards and a TD. The new top WR for the Cowboys in Amari Cooper was unable to reach the end zone but he was a big part of the gameplan as he caught 8 passes for 75 yards which gives the former Alabama star 424 yards and 3 TDs ever since joining the team. The Cowboys defense is a huge reason for their recent success and they showed that against the top offense in the NFL as they held them to 10 points. Rookie LB Leighton Vander Esch led the way with 10 tackles while CB Jourdan Lewis came away with his 1st interception of the season.

My reason for the pick :
This is an important game in terms of the NFC East race as the Cowboys could pull away in the divisional race with a win while the Eagles could climb back into the race. The Cowboys are playing some of their best football in years as Dak Prescott is efficient at QB while Ezekiel Elliot is one of the best RBs in the NFL. The Eagles looked improved on offense against the Redskins but the Cowboys are one of the best in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball and the Saints offense was only able to squeeze out 10 points in Dallas. The Eagles defense had success against 3rd string QB Mark Sanchez but don’t expect the same results against Dak Prescott. Take Dallas at home.
