Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Cincinnati Bengals vs Cleveland Browns

The Cincinnati Bengals will travel to First Energy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, to battle the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.  On one hand, the Browns continue to carry their late-season momentum as they have won four their last five games with their last win coming  on the road versus the Denver Broncos as they picked up the slim, 17-16 win as they received two touchdown passes from Baker Mayfield as they were able to hold off a Broncos team that tighten their lead to only one point with four minutes remaining in the game.

On the other hand, the Cincinnati Bengals halted a five-game losing streak at home versus a struggling Oakland Raiders squad as they won by a 30-16 score as Joe Mixon rushed for 129 yards along with two rushing scores to lead the Bengals to victory. The under has been the play in the last 5 meetings at First Energy Stadium amongst these two teams while the Bengals are 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings in Cleveland, as well.

Cincinnati Bengals's Latest Performance :

The Cincinnati Bengals had not scored 30 points or more in five straight games; However, in their last outing versus the Oakland Raiders, the Bengals came out of their funk in taking a 23-7 lead at the half thanks to a Joe Mixon touchdown run along with a Jeff Driskel touchdown pass in addition to two field goals by Randy Bullock in which to cruise to victory.  Driskel ended with only 130 yards, a touchdown pass, along with an interception while Mixon ended the game with 129 yards, as stated, along with two touchdownsk, with one being a 47-yard scamper as he has scored three touchdowns in his last two outings.

The Bengals defense sacked Derek Carr five times for the game while holding the Raiders to only 68 yards rushing as Doug Martin ended the game with only 39 yards on only 9 rushes. Carr, on the other hand, threw for 263 yards and a touchdown, nonetheless, as the Raiders also had two huge fumbles in the loss as well. In all, Cincinnati certainly picked up a bit of confidence in which to move forward as they desperately needed to get a win under their belt. With that being said, they will now battle a Cleveland team that really beat them up in their last  outing last month as the Browns took a 28-7 lead at the half while cruising to a 35-20 victory at Paul Brown Stadium

Cleveland Browns's Latest Performance :

Cleveland will be looking for their second straight win in a month over the Cincinnati Bengals in this matchup on Sunday as they picked up the 35-20 win on the road on November 25th. As stated, Cleveland has certainly cleaned up their season towards the end of their 2018 campaign as they are now 5-1 in their last six games after picking up a slim victory over the Denver Broncos on the road and their last outing, primarily due on the strength of  play of quarterback Baker Mayfield, which threw two huge touchdown passes, one of which put the Browns up 17 – 13 early in the fourth quarter en route to the Browns victory.

And while Mayfield ended the game with only 188 yards passing along with two touchdowns and an interception, Jarvis Landry led the receiving corps with only 37 yards for the game on three catches while running back Nick Chubb paced the rushing attack with a hundred yards on the day  on 20 rushes, as he failed to score a touchdown for the first time in his last six games, total. In all, Mayfield was sacked twice in the game while the Browns went 1-2 with in the red zone on the night.

Defensively, the Browns held the Broncos to only 260 yards total for the game as Case Keenum threw two interceptions on the game while ending with 257 yards.  Phillip Lindsay rush for only 24 yards on 14 carries as the Broncos could only muster 32 yards on the ground for the game.  In all, Cleveland is winning games due to their ability to maintain and sustain critical drives at pivotal moments within games while relying on its defense in which to make stops on opponents at pivotal points, as well. With that being said, they reside in 3rd place slot within the AFC North Division, only a game behind the Baltimore Ravens.  Interestingly enough, the Browns will face the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in their finale next weekend which will certainly be huge for both teams.

Cincinnati is 7 – 7 ATS while the OU is  8 – 5

Cleveland 9 – 5 ATS while the OU is  6 – 8

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an exciting match-up as the battle  for Ohio will certainly be settled as the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to First Energy Stadium in which to battle a resurgent Cleveland Browns squad. As stated, the Browns took control of the game early versus the Bengals in their last time out and will certainly look to lead with their rushing attack in this contest. Mayfield has played very well for the Browns to end the season and will certainly look to try a Cincinnati passing defense that ranks 29th in the league in defending the pass, overall. On the other hand, Cincinnati will look to also lead with their rushing attack as well as Mixon has been solid in his last two outings for the Bengals  and the lone shining star.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Cleveland Browns -7.5

My reason for the pick :

With the way the Browns have been playing on the defensive end of the ball lately, along with the way that the Bengals have played on the offensive end recently, I will certainly pick the Cleveland Browns at home to win this game while also covering the 7.5 points as I see the passing and rushing attack for the home team playing a solid outing versus a Cincinnati defense that simply does not have it at this point in the season. As stated, with Mayfield continuing to play the way that he currently has illustrated, look forward to the Browns taking control of this game, once again, versus the Bengals early while cruising to victory as they will pick up their third-straight win  while keeping pressure on the second-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 44.5

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in three straight games for the Cleveland Browns, primarily due to their solid defense, while also being the result in two of the last three games, overall, for the Cincinnati Bengals. With that being the case, look for the under to also be the strong play in this matchup as well as I see the Browns defense totally neutralizing an inconsistent offense for the Bengals, which only possesses an average rushing attack in which to kick-start their offense. On the other hand, the Browns will score just enough points in which to pull out a victory.
