Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Green Bay Packers vs New York Jets

The Green Bay Packers will travel to MetLife Stadium in New York, New York, to face the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Jets have lost three of their last four games, overall, as they came up short versus the Houston Texans at home in their last outing as they suffered the 29-22 loss. Nonetheless, Sam Darnold was stellar as he passed for 235 yards along with two touchdown passes in the game; Yet, DeShaun Watson scorched the pass defense for the Jets as he passed for two touchdowns as well en route to the victory for the Texans.

On the other hand, the Green Bay Packers were not able to capitalize off a win versus the Atlanta Falcons prior to their matchup with the Chicago Bears as they suffered the 24-17 loss as their defense allowed Mitch Trubisky to throw for 235 yards on the day while Aaron Rodgers threw for 274 yards yet had an interception in the game as the Packers have lost four of five outings. The underdog is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings amongst these two teams while the Packers are 1-3-1 against the spread in the last five meetings, overall.

Green Bay Packers 's Latest Performance :

Green Bay has also been a team that has struggled lately as they have only won two of their last eight games, overall.  In their last outing versus the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay defense, which has allowed teams to score only 23 points in their last six outings, total, allowed the Chicago Bears to put up 24 points while the Bears also racked up a total of 329 yards for the day with Mitch Trubisky throwing for 235 yards along with two touchdown passes to two different receivers while the rushing attack finished with 97 yards with Jordan Howard rushing for 60 yards on 19 carries along with powering in a rushing touchdown as well. The Bears not only went 3-4 from within the red zone on the night, but, also had 142 return yards as well en route to the huge victory.

On the defensive end, the Bears defense got to Aaron Rodgers a total of five times as the passing attack for Green Bay only put up a net of 235 yards with Rodgers throwing an interception. On the other hand, Green Bay went 1-4 from within the red zone while also failing to score 20 points or more in three of their last four games, overall. While the playoffs are certainly an afterthought for the Green Bay Packers at this point in the season, with games versus the Jets along with Detroit to end the season, they will certainly be looking to end the season on a strong note as their 2018 campaign turned out to be a huge disaster.

New York Jets's Latest Performance :

The New York Jets could not capitalize off of a win versus the Buffalo Bills in their prior outing as they fell to the  Houston Texans at home by a 29-22 score, as stated. In this outing, despite Sam darnold throwing for two touchdowns on 253 yards on the night as his main target was Robby Anderson, who finished with 96 yards on seven receptions along with a touchdown catch, the Jets were unable to pick up the victory. On the other hand, the running game for the Jets only put up 90 yards in the contest as Elijah McGuire had a score while also rushing for 42 yards on 18 attempts for the day. Donald was sacked three times in the contest while the Jets also fumbled the ball as well; However, New York went 3-4 inside the red zone for the night, which is certainly a positive sign moving forward.

The defense, on the other hand, allowed Houston’s DeShawn Watson to carve up their pass defense as he ended the game with 294 yards on the day along with two touchdown passes to DeAndre Hopkins, who finished the game with 170 yards on 10 catches. For good measure, Watson also led the rushing attack with 26 yards on seven carries. Nonetheless, the Jets held the Texans to less than 300 yards total for the game yet their inability to contain Watson ultimately proved to signal their demise for this matchup, thus allowing them to lose their 7th game in eight outings.

The Jets will seek to carry a bit of their offensive momentum into this matchup with the Green Bay Packers as the Packers have certainly struggled in defending the run this season. However,  Darnold will certainly be looking to continue his stellar play under center as he will be facing a Green Bay pass defense that is ranked 9th in the league in allowing just 226 yards per game.

How Green Bay Packers & New York Jets Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Green Bay is 5 – 8 – 1 ATS while the OU is  7-7

New York is 5 – 8 – 1 ATS while the OU is  9 – 5

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting game in that both teams will be looking to get back on the winning track after devastating losses to which each suffered seven-point defeats. On one hand, the Jets Sam Darnold is coming into this matchup  playing well since his return two games ago as he has thrown three touchdowns alongside one interception since. On the other hand, Green Bay’s lack of a consistent rushing attack may indeed have some success versus a Jets defense that allows a tad over 123 yards rushing to opponents on a  weekly basis.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: New York Jets (pk)

My reason for the pick :

I will pick the Jets in this matchup as Darnold is certainly shining in his own way for New York, lately, and throughout the season. With that being the case, look for him to find some open spots within a past secondary for Green Bay that ranks within the top 10 in the NFL; However, are known to give up some big plays from time to time. With that being the case, take the home team as the pick’em in this contest as the Jets will find a way in which ro Rule the trenches and pull out a slim victory on Sunday afternoon versus a horrible Green Bay squad.

Totals Selection: Pick:  Under 44

My reason for the prediction :

I will go with the under in this contest as one should expect both defenses to be the tip of the spear in this matchup since the offenses for both Green Bay and New York  continues the struggle at critical points within games. With that being said, look for both teams to put some points on the board throughout this matchup, however, look for the Jets to outshine the Green Bay Packers at home versus a Green Bay Packers team that is winless in its last five road games, all together.  The under will indeed be the strong play in this instance.

Packers are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games on fieldturf.
Packers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games.

Betting trends for New York Jets:
