Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants
The New York Giants are set to return to MetLife Stadium for the regular season finale where they will welcome in the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East clash, the opening kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM. The Giants put together some nice wins towards the end of the season but they still sit in last place of the division while Dallas locked up the NFC East title with a win last weekend and currently sit at the 4th seed.

Dallas Cowboys's Latest Performance :
The Cowboys were able to respond to their embarrassing shutout loss 2 weeks ago against the Indianapolis Colts with a solid home victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-20. QB Dak Prescott didn’t have a huge statistical game but he was effective as he completed 20 of his 25 attempts for a total of 161 yards and a TD while also adding in a rushing TD. Prescott enters the final game of the season with 3498 passing yards, 18 TDs, and 8 interceptions while also contributing 6 rushing TDs which is tied for the top spot. The ground game has been the bread and butter of the Cowboys success as RB Ezekiel Elliot is one of the top backs in the league. The Buccaneers zeroed in on the ground attack which prevented the former Ohio State product from rushing for 100+ yards but he was still able to break through for 85 yards on 18 carries. Elliot is one of the top all-purpose backs in the NFL as he enters the final game of the season with 2001 scrimmage yards and 9 TDs. The Cowboys offense has been much better ever since Amari Cooper put on a Cowboys jersey but he had arguably his worst game since coming to Dallas as he was held to only 4 catches for 20 yards. Cooper has played in 8 games this season and he clearly has been the best WR as he has compiled 694 yards and 6 TDs. Michael Gallup had a nice game for Prescott and company as he hauled in a team-high 53 yards and contributed the lone TD reception of the game. The defense has been one of the top in the league and will be a major contributor in a postseason run for the Cowboys. Rookie LB Leighton Vander Esch had a huge game against the Buccaneers with 15 tackles while his LB partner Jaylon Smith returned a fumble 69 yards for a TD in the 1st half.
New York Giants's Latest Performance :
The New York Giants have strung together a couple of wins down the stretch which has essentially only hurt this franchise as they have moved back in the 2019 NFL draft pecking order. The Giants went into halftime up 17-7 against the Indianapolis Colts this past weekend but they eventually fell as the Colts score a last-minute TD to win 28-27. QB Eli Manning played his best game in 2018 as the veteran was able to throw for 309 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception without Odell Beckham. There has been a ton of criticism toward Eli Manning this season as he has thrown for 3998 yards, 19 TDs, and 10 interceptions which leaves a ton of people to believe that they will be drafting a QB in the upcoming draft. RB Saquon Barkley is the top candidate for ROY but he was bottled up against the Colts as he was only able to run for 43 yards and a TD on 21 carries. Barkley isn’t only the top rookie RB but arguably one of the best in the NFL as he has totaled 1886 scrimmage yards and 14 TDs. Without Odell Beckham, Manning was forced to turn to an inexperienced group of WRs and we saw a few faces shine. WR Sterling Shepherd has always been a reliable target ever since he came into the league and we saw him put together a nice outing against the Colts as he caught 6 passes for a total of 113 yards. Shepherd is the 2nd leading WR for the Giants as he enters week 17 with 805 yards and 4 TDs which is his best season over his 3-year tenure. The Giants defense was outnumbered against the high-powered Colts offense as they were without some key pieces. LB Tae Davis put together a solid outing with 7 tackles and a sack while DB Curtis Riley has continued to grow as a player and came down with his 4th interception of the season.

My reason for the pick :
Week 17 is a hard week to cap as you have teams who are looking to improve their draft position and teams who are looking to rest their stars for the playoffs but I like this line as the Giants should play well at home in the regular season finale. The Giants aren’t too worried about their draft position as they are more so evaluating QB Eli Manning and the rest of the team. Manning has played well as of recent but considering the fact that this could be his last game in a Giants jersey I believe he puts on a show for the home crowd. The Cowboys might play their starters for the 1st half but they can’t improve or hurt their playoff seeding so I am sure guys like Elliot and Cooper won’t play too much. The Giants play well in divisional games so I will take a shot with them.
