Los Angeles Chargers's Latest Performance :
The Los Angeles Chargers are arguably one of the best teams in the NFL despite being a Wild Card team and we should expect this team to be dangerous in the playoffs as they have a really good offense and defense. The Chargers were able to end the season on a high note as they beat up on the Denver Broncos 23-9. QB Phillip Rivers is one of the top in the league and we saw him put together a good season but he struggled last weekend against the Broncos. Rivers was only able to complete 14 of his 24 pass attempts for a total of 176 yards, 1 TD, and 2 interceptions which has been nothing like his season as he enters the postseason with 4308 yards, 32 TDs, and 12 interceptions. The Chargers are a two-dimensional offense as they have a deadly ground attack and we saw the ability for Anthony Lynn and company to insert two different RBs. Melvin Gordon has been the top back all season long as he has totaled 1375 scrimmage yards and 14 TDs but backup RB Austin Ekeler has also been effective with 958 scrimmage yards and 6 TDs. The Chargers also have one of the better WR corps in the league as they have found a solid 1-2 punch with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Williams was able to have a solid outing against the Broncos with a team-high 65 yards and a TD on 5 receptions which puts him at 664 yards and 10 TDs while Allen has a team-high 1196 yards and 6 TDs. The Chargers defense has been overshadowed due to their high-powered offense but they deserve credit for their success this season. DB Adrian Phillips had a solid outing against the Broncos with a team-high 12 tackles while Jahleel Addae contributed the lone interception of the game.
Baltimore Ravens's Latest Performance :
The Baltimore Ravens have finally made it back to the postseason after missing out every single season since 2014 and they have taken a different approach to the way they operate in game situations as they use good defense and a dangerous rushing attack to put teams away. The Ravens were able to clinch their berth in the postseason after they won at home in week 17 against the Cleveland Browns 26-24. QB Lamar Jackson is not asked to do much through the air for the Ravens but he has done enough this season and we saw that in display against the Browns as he threw for 176 yards and kept the chains moving. Jackson is one of the most effective QBs on the ground in the NFL and we saw him continue to shine against the Browns as he rushed for 90 yards and 2 TDs on 20 carries. The Ravens are 6-1 ever since Jackson has been inserted into the starting lineup as he has thrown for 1201 yards, 6 TDs, 3 interceptions, and 695 rushing yards and 5 TDs. The Ravens have a few RBs they can throw out at any occasion and we saw Kenneth Dixon shine against the Browns with a team-high 117 yards on 12 carries. Rookie RB Gus Edwards has been the better option for the Ravens down the stretch as the former Rutgers standout has run for 718 yards on the season. When forced to turn to the aerial attack Jackson has turned to his handful of TEs and one of the shining stars has been rookie Mark Andrews who contributed a team-high 54 yards on 4 receptions last weekend. The defense for the Ravens is arguably one of the best in the NFL and they were able to rattle rookie QB Baker Mayfield last week with 3 interceptions. LB C.J. Mosley led the way with 6 tackles while contributing an interception which has been representative of his season as he has a season-best 105 tackles.

My reason for the pick :
We recently saw these two teams play during week 16 where Baltimore dominated from the opening kickoff but I think the Chargers change their gameplan in this one and attack Lamar Jackson differently. Rookie safety Derwin James is used to playing against Lamar Jackson as he played against him in college and now the NFL and I think we see the Chargers continue to use him against stopping the run. The Chargers have the talent in their front 7 to stop the run and if they can force Lamar Jackson to throw the ball Joey Bosa will have a field day. The Chargers offense will have to start better as we have seen Rivers throw some costly interceptions in the 1st quarter over the past few weeks and I think the Chargers try to get their ground attack going with Gordon. The Chargers are also one of the best teams ATS on the road with an astonishing 7-1 record. Expect the Chargers to be fired up for this matchup and win outright.
