Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins come into this matchup winners of 4 of their last 5 games to there the O/U was 2-3. They recently would win a 3-game road set against the Baltimore Orioles on 6-17-2018 while losing game 2 of a 3-game road set against the San fRacnsico Giants on 6-19-2018 by a 6-3 score.

Derek Dietrich (.286 BA on 217 AB) and Miguel Rojas (.230 BA on 230 AB) have also been critical components to the Miami offensive attack.
Jose Urena (1-8, 80.1 IP, 42 R, 80 H, 9 HR, 18 BB, 66 SO, 4.59 ERA) have pitched the most inning for the Marlins this year. Caleb Smith (5-6) has also pitched 65.2 innings while allowing 27 runs on 48 hits, 7 homers, 30 walks, and 79 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.70.
Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :
The Colorado Rockies are winners of 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 1-3-1. Recently, the Rockies would lose a 3-game road set versus the Texas Rangers on 6-17-2018 while also tying a 3-game home set versus the lowly NY Mets by winning game 2 by a 10-8 score.
For the season, the Rockies are averaging 4.62 runs per game (8th) with a team batting average of .249 (13th), 89 homers (11th), along with 39 stolen bases (11th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 5.13 (29th) with 623 strikeouts (15th), along with 30 quality starts (16th).

How Miami Marlins & Colorado Rockies Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
For the season, the Rockies are 34-39 ATS while the O/U is 34-33-6. On the other hand, the Marlins are 37-37 ATS while the O/U is 38-36.
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Both these teams continue to slide in their respective divisions in that the Marlins, though winners of 6 of 9, have not made any ground within the NL East yet hope to get some wins against a team that they have some success against in the past. On the other hand, the Rockies are free-falling at this point in the season having lost 9 of 12 games. During this time, the offense has put up an average of a tad under 7 runs per game, however, their pitching staff has given up an average of 8 runs per game, overall. Its clear that the marlins must also be looking forward to curing their low-scoring woes against a staff that has been so generous in the past.
In game 1, Wei-Yen Chen (2-3) will come to the hill for the Marlins looking to win his 2nd outing in a row. In his last start, he pitched 6 innings while allowing 3 runs on 8 hits in a 5-4 road win versus the Orioles on 6-16-2018. The Marlins are 3-0 in Chen’s last 3 appearances while the over has been the result in 3 of their last 4 games. Furthermore, Chen has been credited with 13 earned runs in his last 4 starts and will be opposed by a pitcher who has been credited with 31 earned runs in his last 7 starts.
Nolan Arenado (2-4), Carlos Gonzalez (2-2), and Trevor Story (1-1) have had the most success against Chen in the past. Ian Desmond (.167 BA on 6 AB) and DJ LaMahieu (.200 BA on 5 AB) have had the most experience yet with less successful results against the left-hander. Charlie Blackmon is 0-2 against Chen in his career.
Jon Gray (6-7) has won 6 games this year, however, he has had problems with the long ball (1 in his last 2 starts) and walks (14 in his last 5 starts). In his last outing, he pitched 5 innings while giving up 6 runs on 6 hits in a 13-12 road loss at the Texas Rangers on 6-17-2018. The Rockies are only 2-5 in Gray’s last 7 starts while the over has been the result in 4 of his last 6 appearances.
Starlin Castro (1-2), Derek Dietrich (.500 BA on 10 AB), and Miguel Rojas (1-4) have had success against Gray in the past while Justin Bour (.167 BA on 6 AB) and J.T. Realmuto 0-5) have had a much harder time figuring out the righty in past matchups.
In game 2, the pitcher for the Rockies have not been announced, however, Trevor Richards (1-4) will get the start to the Marlins hoping to put behind him an outing to where he pitched only 3.1 innings while allowing 6 runs on 9 hits in a 10-4 road loss to the Baltimore Orioles on 6-17-2018. In all, Richards has been credited with an average of 3 runs per game in his last 5 games to where the under has been the play in 4 of his last 6 games. This will be the 1st matchup against this Rockies lineup for Richards, however, I am sure that he will look to pitch as solidly as possible in which to allow his team the opportunity to pull out a win on Saturday.
In game 3, the pitcher for the Rockies have not been announced, however, Caleb Smith (5-6) will come to the mound for the Marlins hoping to end a streak of no-decision in his most recent two starts. In his last outing, he pitched only 4 innings while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits in a 5-4 road win versus the San Francisco Giants on 6-18-2018. The over has been the play in 4 of Smith’s last 5 starts while the Marlins are 5-1 in his last 6 starts. Finally, he has been credited with 12 earned runs in his last 4 starts on 23 hits. This will also be Smith’s first crack at the Rockies lineup, however, I am sure that he will be looking to get back into the win column against a team that has really struggled at the plate lately.
Against The Spread Selection: Game 2: Miami Marlins
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Marlins in what I expect to be a low-scoring yet competitive matchup to where the Marlins will pull out a slim victory primarily due to Richards being on the mound. In all, I would say that
Richards has pitched well this season. Before his last disastrous outing, he was only surrendering an average of 1.3 runs per game in his prior 3 starts. Furthermore, I would say that a date against a team such as the Rockies who have struggled at the plate recently will certainly be a confidence booster. In all, take the Marlins to come out victorious on Saturday afternoon in which to pick up the all-important victory.
Totals Selection: Games 1 and 3: Over
My reason for the prediction :
I will back the over in games 1 and 3 in that both Smith and Gray are over machines while Chen has also been known to give up entirely too many runs on more than one occasion this season. Combine this with the fact that the over has been the result in 7 of the last 8 games for the Rockies along with being the play in 5 of the last 7 for the Marlins, I expect this trend to hold true amongst a couple teams where the pitching staffs have been lackluster lately in giving up far too many runs.
