Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox play host to the visiting Minnesota Twins to kick off a three-game AL Central divisional match-up at Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday night. The Twins have a comfortable cushion between them and the White Sox, but oh how things can change quickly as we’ve seen in this unpredictable season.
A trio of pitchers is coming to town looking to add to their win column. Game one will feature Minnesota’s Lance Lynn (5-5, 4.64 ERA) vs. Reynaldo Lopez (2-5, 3.59 ERA). Game two has Kyle Gibson (2-5, 3.25 ERA) taking on Chicago’s James Shields (2-9, 4.59 ERA). The series finale will feature Fernando Romero (3-3, 4.38 ERA) against Chicago closer Lucas Giolito (5-7, 7.01 ERA).
Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
The Twins are fighting for that coveted second place spot as they watch the Tigers fall into a tailspin losing five in a row with no end in sight. Twins pitching has stepped it up and are making an impact. Jose Berrios is perfect in June capturing his third win against the Rangers Sunday striking out twelve and improving to 8-5 on the season. Fernando Rodney came in and clinched the win 2-0. If they can keep up that pace, they’ll soon eclipse the faltering Tigers and possibly threaten the Indians who are currently on a roll at seven wins in a row.
Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :
The White Sox are in danger of slipping into baseball oblivion this season. They have gone a dismal 2-8 in their last ten and are only three games ahead of one of the worst teams in MLB…the Kansas City Royals. Granted they took out their frustration on the Oakland Athletics on Sunday stomping them 10-3 in the series finale after Oakland opened the series with a stomping of their own with an 11-2 beatdown. It will be interesting to see if that win sparks a lucky streak.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
After splitting the Oakland series, you have to wonder if the White Sox might come to play. However, the Twins are looking to deny them any advancement in the division and erase their potential to play the role of spoiler in this series. Neither team has a starting pitcher with a winning record pitching in any of the three games which opens the door for some offense. If either team can capitalize on the lack of strong pitching, it will be an entertaining back and forth series.
