Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals

The Denver Broncos will travel to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, to battle the Andy Dalton-less Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. After losing six of seven games at one point, the Denver Broncos have won two straight games with a 24-17 home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers as Phillip Lindsay broke a 17-17 tie with a 2 yard touchdown run which essentially sealed the victory for the Broncos.

On the other hand, the Cincinnati Bengals were destroyed at home by the Cleveland Browns by 35-20 score as they allowed Baker Mayfield to torch their pass secondary with 4 TDs for the day while Nick Chubb  also rushed for over 100 yards in the victory for Cleveland. Cincinnati pulled out the 20-17 road victory over the Broncos in their last outing on November 19th 2017. The road team has covered the spread in 7 of the last eight meeting between these two squads.

Denver Broncos's Latest Performance :

Cincinnati Bengals, on the other hand, will certainly be without quarterback Andy Dalton in this game with a thumb injury, however, may also be without AJ Green as well as he is day today with a toe injury. Nonetheless, the Browns are coming off one of their worst outing of the season in a loss to the Browns last Sunday.  The Bengals were beat in just about every area in this matchup as Jeff driskel had problems in moving the offense after Dalton went down with injury. Driscoll however, ended the game with 155 yards along with a TD pass and a pick for Cincinnati while Tyler Boyd led the receiving corps with 85 yards along with a TD.

The rushing attack for Cincinnati racked up 129 yards on the day with Joe Mixon having 89 of those on 14 carries. Even with Dalton, the Cincinnati Bengals fell well below offensive expectations as they are currently ranked 26th in total yards per game with 336 while its passing attack was only averaging  240 yards per game. Now with Driscoll under center, the Bengals will have to find ways in which to allow him to gain confidence while moving forward in what may be a wasted season.

Cincinnati Bengals's Latest Performance :

While the Broncos have only won one of their last four home games, they have certainly gained momentum in the past couple weeks as they have wins over the Los Angeles Chargers as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers as they were able to control the line of scrimmage while also getting two touchdown passes from Case Keenum in the much-needed victory over Pittsburgh last Sunday. The rushing attack for Denver was also on point as Phillip Lindsay ended with 110 yards along with a touchdown while Emmanuel Sanders caught seven catches from Keenum in the matchup as he ended with 84 yards along with a touchdown passes as well to spark the offense.

And while the defense for the Broncos were torched by Ben Roethlisberger, who threw for 462 yards along with  a touchdown pass, Denver picked off Roethlisberger twice in the matchup while allowing only 75 yards rushing to the Steelers for the game. The Broncos offense has not been overly stellar this year, however, continues to come up with critical plays at pivotal momentum within games while their defense has certainly kept them in games the past two weeks as well.

How Denver Broncos & Cincinnati Bengals Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Denver is 5 – 5 – 1 ATS while the OU is  3 – 7

Cincinnati is 5 – 6 ATS while the OU is8 – 3

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This game will be imperative for both teams as the Denver Broncos would like to continue their two-game winning streak while the Bengals would like to gain any type of confidence after losing Dalton to injury while losing two straight. Again, Green is day today for this matchup and uncertain as to whether or not he will suit up, which also benefits the Denver Broncos in this matchup as well.  As stated, Denver has not played well on the road this year, however, the Bengals have also not played well at Paul Brown Stadium either in 2018. In all, this will certainly be a very competitive game between two teams looking to pick up a much-needed win.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Denver Broncos - 4.5

My reason for the pick :

Driskell threw a touchdown pass last weekend while also throwing for 155 yards in relief of Dalton. This week, he will receive his first full week of practice as a starter and will certainly come out focused in this matchup. In fact, he may indeed have some success versus a Denver pass secondary that is ranked 24th in the league in defending the pasts; Nonetheless, Denver also possesses  the 10th rank rushing attack in the league behind Lindsay and will certainly look to control the trenches versus a Cincinnati team that is ranked 31st in stopping the run. In all, look for Denver to grind out a hard fought victory in this matchup as they will rely on their running game to pick up the win.

Totals Selection: Pick:   Under 44

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this matchup as I certainly see  the Bengals struggling versus a Denver defense that has gained a bit of confidence the past two weeks due to putting two wins under their belt. On the other hand, the Broncos will certainly put some points on the board due to Lindsay and the rushing attack that will likely run roughshod over a shaky defensive front or the Bengals all game long. With that being the case, do not expect the total to surpass its set limit for this matchup as  Denver will do just enough to win the game while neutralizing the offense for Cincinnati in the meantime.
