Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings
The Chicago Bears will travel to TCF Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to battle the Minnesota Vikings for an NFC North Showdown on a Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. As for the Chicago Bears, they have essentially sewed up the division crown despite the results from this matchup. On the other hand, they have a win already versus the Vikings this season and will certainly like to conclude on a strong note with a victory on Sunday.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Vikings will be looking for a victory as it looks as if they may indeed make the playoffs; However, a win in this matchup versus the Bears can certainly solidify their position. The Bears are 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings while the under has been the play in five of the last seven meetings in Minneapolis amongst these two teams.
Chicago Bears's Latest Performance :
It is no surprise that Chicago will certainly lead with their defense in this matchup as the unit has been the catalyst for their success in 2018. In fact, the Bears are ranked in the top 10 in all major defensive categories this year as they are only allowing teams to score 18 points per game well also ranking second with in the NFL in stopping the run as opponents average just 81 yards per game. Khalil Mack leads the team with 12 and 1/2 sacks from his linebacker position while Kyle Fuller leads the team with seven interceptions, total, for a Chicago defense that also possesses a cornerback in Eddie Jackson that has caught in an interception in four of his last five outings. However, he sat out in their most recent outing due to an ankle injury and is questionable for this matchup as well.
Chicago did not have many problems, at all, versus the San Francisco 49ers on the road last weekend as the defense only allowed 47 yards on the ground while Nick Mullens threw for 249 yards along with an interception for San Francisco on a night where they went 0 – 3 inside the Red Zone while holding the ball for a tad over 24 minutes. On the other hand, Mitch Trubisky was solid yet again for Chicago as he threw for 246 yards along with a touchdown pass as Allen Robinson leather receiving corps with 85 yards on six catches on the night.
In all, the Chicago Bears are undefeated in their last 5 NFC North games and will certainly like to continue this streak versus a Minnesota team that has rebounded from a rough patch in which they were losers of four of six games, overall, in which to rebound and win the next two games versus Miami and, of course, San Francisco.
Minnesota Vikings 's Latest Performance :
Minnesota will certainly not win the NFC North, as stated, yet will certainly go into the playoffs on a high note with a win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. If their defense continues to play the way they have recently, they will have a great chance in which to accomplish their task as the offense for the Bears are averaging only 17 points per game in their last three outings, overall.
As stated, the Vikings were able to go ahead by only five points at the half while shutting out the offnese for the Lions as the home team ended with only a tad over 200 total yards for the game as Matthew Stafford only threw for 116 yards for the game in addition to being sacked three times. The rushing attack racked up 86 yards with Zack Zenner rushing for 45 yards on 8 rushes as the Lions continued a terrible stretch of offensive outings to end their 2018 campaign.
On the other hand, the Vikings will take the momentum from a three touchdown passing night from Kirk Cousins as he ended with a total of 253 yards as he found Kyle Rudolph for two scores, who led the receiving corps with 122 yards rushing on nine catches, total. The rushing attack for Minnesota put up 100 yards on the day as Dalvin Cook continued his solid streak of play with 8 rushes for 73 yards total for the game. In all, the Vikings will be looking to exert themselves on the defensive end in this matchup as they are not only ranked in the top 10 in stopping both the run along with the pass, but, are also highly ranked as it relates to total yards per game.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This will certainly be an interesting matchup in that Minnesota will be looking to solidify a playoff spot with a win versus the Chicago Bears. On the other hand, Chicago will be looking to seal up the NFC North division while also going into the playoffs on a winning note after a solid season. One can certainly expect both teams to lead with their defenses as each possess defensive units that are ranked within the top 10 in all major defensive categories for 2018 while also allowing opponents to score 15 or less points per outing in their last three games.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Chicago Bears Plus +4.5
My reason for the pick :
Look for this to be a highly competitive matchup amongst these two NFC North teams on Sunday afternoon. Furthermore, while Chicago has not had a high scoring offensive attack in 2018, they seem to have a knack for scoring at critical points within a game in which to lead their team to victory. Of course, their defense can certainly be a catalyst for allowing them to be successful this year as well as they have simply been dominating offenses all year long. With that being the case, look for the Bears to keep this game manageable on the strength of their defensive unit as they will neutralize the Vikings offensive attack for much of this game. On the other hand, look for the Bears to show and prove in which to put some points on the board while covering the four and a half points versus a Minnesota team that will certainly be focused throughout the contest, however, will not be able to make any consistent headway versus a Chicago Bears defensive unit that I certainly stepped up its game throughout the season.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under 40.5
My reason for the prediction :
I will back the under in this matchup as it has been the play in four of the last five games for the Minnesota Vikings while also being the result in four of the last five games for the Chicago Bears. As stated, with the defenses that will be coming to the field in this contest, one can certainly bank on the fact that not many points will be scored early on along with throughout the game as the under will indeed be the strong play in the end.
